had a truly awful night, started with a PTSD trigger, progressed to my father belittling my mental illness, continued with me taking too many benadryl and drinking too much wine and getting angry that no one will tell my ex how the things he did were not okay, but then I wrote some poetry and cried and cuddled with my cat and i think i’m okay now. Conclusion is that my ex was awful from the beginning and never on my level and one time when we were driving there was this beautiful sunset and i pointed it out and he said “yeah it’s cool I guess” and I cried because it was in that moment I knew that he could never really be the intelligent, emotional, cool dude i made up in my head that he was.

And really he’s just lame and abusive and I’m worthy of a far different, far deeper person than he ever was.

And I love my kitten and I love Sufjan Stevens
