There is no weakness in admitting that you are still struggling. It is not a flaw to acknowledge that along the path to growth and self-improvement, bi’ithnillāh ta’āla, you may stumble or perhaps even fall on more than one occasion. Enjoining the good and forbidding the evil is not only to be acted upon when one has reached a certain level of performance, but it is an injunction from Allāh ﷻ upon every believer.

Do good deeds, as often as you can, as consistently as is within your ability, support and advise your loved ones with kindness, and always seek the assistance of your Lord in enacting sincere change. May Allāh ﷻ aid us all in becoming better Muslims, keep us firm upon the truth, and make us from the righteous believers, Ameen.

Hafsah bint ‘Umar on Two Reasons to Marry

‘Amr b. Dīnār reports that ʿAbdullāh bin ʿUmar – Allāh be pleased with them – intended not to marry after the [passing of the] Prophet (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa salam), so Ḥafṣah (his sister) – Allāh be pleased with her – advised him:

“My brother, marry, for if you have a child and it dies, it will precede you into Al-Jannah (and be a cause for you to be admitted), and if it lives, the child will supplicate for good for you.”
