At a Peak lord meeting there is a big argument over some rare beast and then LQG grunts and is like "I know who can help" and just leaves and doesn't explain anything. Then a few days later he's dragging in this guy so hot he makes LQG look like he got hit with the ugly stick. He is polite and excitedly explains all this stuff they needed to know like it's no sweat.

YQY asks if he'll stay in the sect for a little while so they can work together. SY agrees and from that point onwards is absolutely wifebeaming basically everyone who crosses his path. Rumor has it that WQW almost threw down with MQF over this guy. Xuan Su and An Ding have been active combat zones for days. Human technicians start hopping ships and upkeeping the general maintenance, the stuff that most aliens put off or don't notice because they never access the crevices of their ships. As human companies become more popular and lead the tech world in everything from warp cores to game stations ("it's so compact! How are the graphics so good?" Says a 60' tall grimbleback, holding a new VR headset that has all of its components included because it's so BIG by our tech standards), soon many things have accessibility ports for humans to be able to use as well. This means that these shiprats hoping ship to ship cause such a huge improvement in everything running smoothly, and there's a huge downtick in pests on ships because those "pests" are not only big enough and aggressive enough to bite a pitbull or a person in half, they're invasive to so many planets and humans hate nothing more than dog killing planet overrunning monsters.

All the while, from the Aliens perspective, humans are an elusive race that don't fraternize much with them. You almost never see a human as most places aren't exactly safe for the little things to run around in. They do export so much stuff though, and the custodial staff at the Central Galactic Outpost insists that there's more humans around than any other race if you just know where to look.

And sure it's somewhat known that some of the little daredevils hop ships and help out in exchange for room and board, usually without permission, but that can't be that common, can it?

Maybe your ship is running better this cycle ever since you stopped at the last station, that just means that tuneup was better than you thought. And maybe for some reason that program you were working on last night is finished when you wake up, but you're so tired maybe you finished it before you passed out. Somehow that faulty light in the galley has fixed itself as well, which is odd, but maybe the Engineer finally got to it. You'd know if there was someone else on your ship.

Like,part of why tcf is so dear to me is because of how it showcases that love is universal in all forms.It has no romance,and for me,that’s what makes the story perfect.

Its not like I don’t enjoy romance or even Cale being shipped with various people around him,god knows how many fics I've read of tcf that are just romance focused,but there’s a comfort in knowing that the story will never go in that direction.Because it doesn’t need to.

It doesn’t need romance in its life to be loved so vividly,both by me and other people. The idea of burning down the world for someone you love but will never be in love with,the thought of relationships that are clearly ’just friendships’ but showcasing that love so beautifully.Just as beautifully.

I am in love with tcf because of it.

Alberu or Choi han or any other person with Cale could get the same treatment of ships by people of the fandom.But those relationships themselves are built on what everyone reads.And in the end the reason why is because the bonds between all of them are so ridiculously precious,imagining them to be in love is not so far fetched.

And they do love each other.Dearly.Its a bond that’s ’just’ friendship but its so damn beautiful that you cant help but love every part of it.And the best part is,that its treated just as importantly as romantic love interests are in any other novels.

The cast of tcf.They found each other,broken and tattered,and reforged themselves into the family that most of them never had.

Also, more often than you might think, they’re not actually promoting bigotry so much as “didn’t consider all the implications of something” or just used words that were polite then but considered offensive now.
