I remember for a while in the 2010s it was a feminist talking point that having a cis guy friend confess and then stop talking to you if you said no was a type of loss you should be allowed to mourn, idk what the hell happened to that, but it does happen regardless of gender, even if people tend to be a little nicer to cis men who turn down women, since cis men overall are not culturally expected to alter their lives according to what the women around them want when women are always expected to humor cis men even at the expense of our happiness and consent.
