Hereâs her account, her tattoos are so fantastic to look at.
reblogging for the tattoo artists IG to be boosted
I keep seeing this post and Iâve gotta speak up on it, because that isnât a good example of color on dark skin.Â
Iâm a tattoo artist, and Iâve had a bunch of clients come in saying they were told dark skin canât take any color whatsoever, which is bullshit. The long and short of it is dark skin can take plenty of color, provided it isnât too light.
Tattoos look best when theyâre fresh because the ink is still on the top layer of open skin. As the skin heals over the tattoo, the color gets less vibrant and defined. This is true of anybody of any skin tone. Tattoo pigments tend to act a lot like watercolor; theyâre not terribly opaque in the skin, meaning that as that tattoo ages, the white will fade into patches of slightly lighter skin, and may disappear altogether, as will lighter colors like yellows and pinks. Many artists consider doing tattoos entirely or mostly in white ink to be irresponsible for that reason, and use white ink very sparingly to create small highlights, in places where even faded ink will add contrast.
Notice how the yellow is all but gone on even the lightest skin, while the deeper reds have stayed. And that isnât even factoring in sun exposure, how often the skin is submerged in water, friction, or how the skin in the area bends and flexes. I know extremely pale people who lost all the color in their tattoos in 5 years due to a variety of those factors; Iâm pale as they come, and the yellow in my oldest tattoo is only 2 years old and already super faded.Â
Color that lasts a long time is darker and more saturated than the skin itâs in.
See how the butterfly is still noticeably purple, and stands out in all the skin tones?
Teals, yellows, pinks and whites photograph beautifully in dark skin, but ultimately donât have longevity as tattoos. Dark skin, however, can still take reds, blues, greens, purples, and browns beautifully! The best way to make color vivid in any skin is to put it in a strong black outline; tattoos like the one below will look like bruises as they age, and the fading color doesnât have structured black to contrast and frame it.
Hereâs some color on dark skin that will age well!
The yellows in this tattoo are very saturated and framed in lots of solid black; even if they fade, the fish will stay nice and vibrant.
Similarly, the white in this tattoo will definitely lighten, but the dark reds and blacks will hold the tattoo together very well.
Tl;dr, have a solid black outline, make sure the colors you pick are darker/more saturated than your own skin, and donât rely too heavily on white. These are basic tattoo principles that can and should be used when deciding on any tattoo, regardless of skintone. Hope it helps!

Artist friends, let me just tell you a thing. FUCK Wacom. Fuck Wacom and their planned obsolescence, fuck Wacom and their broken drivers, fuck Wacom and their over-priced tablets. For years weâve dealt with them with no alternatives but let me tell you a thing.
I recently found out my Intuos 4â˛s Pen had broken and rather than spend ÂŁ60-89 for a new one I decided to get a new tablet. Now, I could get the new âIntuosâ (which is just the re-branded Bamboo) and i was going to until I found this beast.
This is the Huion H610, it has almost twice the drawing space of the low-end Intuos and double the pressure levels. The one and only negative is that the pen requires a battery.
Not only that, it is larger than my Intuos 4 which I paid ÂŁ150 for back in the day. Know how much this cost? ÂŁ55. The same as the basic Intuos.
I am in LOVE with this thing. Letâs compare this with the lowest of the low end Wacom Intuos line.
               Intuos      Huion
Active Area:   6 by 3.7 in    10" x 6.25"
Pressure Levels:Â 1024 Â Â Â Â Â Â 2048
Hard Input Res:Â 2540 LPI Â Â Â 4000 LPI
Express Keys: Â Â Â Â Â 4 Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 8
Not to mention the Intuos is HIDEOUS with buttons that are in incredibly awkward places.
The fact that a ÂŁ55 matches and exceeds the ÂŁ150 Intuos 4 I bought years ago speaks worlds. And do you know what the very final nail in the coffin is?
THE DRIVERS. ACTUALLY. WORK.
Itâs time Wacom had some real competition in the market, if youâre looking for a new tablet please consider a Huion over a Wacom. I used to be a Wacom fanboy too but now?
Here is the H610 on Amazon UK and Amazon US.
All I can find is good reviews on this thing and people doing the same thing I am doing, trying to convince people itâs worth it. So⌠You have the information, use it as you will.
I donât have this model of huion but my tablet is a huion brand H610PRO and I love it. The buttons all make sense and the pen has a super long lifespan. It also came with extra tips for the pen and a little case thing to store them in. I highly recommend huion for a tablet.

OK to make a font out of your own writing
go here
http://www.myscriptfont.com/
instead of printing it off just use this blank thing that way you dont have to scan it or anything
so fill that out by pasting it in any art program and whatnot
then save it and upload it to that site
and itll give you an option to download it
so do that and then install it BAM
I JUST GOT THIS ON MY TABLET ITâS SO COOL OH MY GOD
for some reason it refused to recognize the third page of my letters but they were all pretty unnecessary mathematic things anyway so Iâm not too worried. still something to keep in mind though, I hope it doesnât happen for you!
paintfont.com would be a good place to go to quickly make a custom font for your comic!
ehh
It looks just as horrible in real life..even worse with the letter attachedâŚ
Iâll try this later.
you can also use alternative alphabets
Welp. Guess I know what font Iâm gonna be using for comics from now on. B)
Welp. Looks like I have to do this now. So I can use this for Tengriâs asks.
For some reason there is no apostrophe in my set, but it still looks cool.
NEAT THING ALERT
The site is now called https://www.calligraphr.com/en/ but itâs basically the same!
If u wanna good gay dating now game coming out on top is great and Ian and Phil are best boys
I see a lot of people who seem to be under the impression that like, dream daddy is the ONLY gay dating game im actually kinda surprised that a lot of ppl dont know about COOT bc it was really big and had a wildly successful KS lol
but anyways Coming out on top is a really good, warning that it IS NSFW, the dev has never released a SFW version of the game so. anyways you can purchase it here
https://obscurasoft.com/
Forget me Not is another very very good game! Itâs short and free so you can try it out if you like, The game DOES cover sensitive subject however! you can download it here and take a look at the warningsÂ
http://forgetmenotvn.tumblr.com/download
other MLM/BL/Yaoige there is a blog that posts about them, they havent been able to update in a while however BUT there is quite a bit of stuff in there to sift through. it includes a lot of yaoi games as well as a few games made without the yaoi crowd in mind, and both translated JVNs and EVNs.Â
http://englishblgames.tumblr.com/
Sugar Script, the developers behind Cute Demon Crashers is working on a gay spin off called B Side, it should be released very soon. Warning for NSFW content. the original CDC did allow you to skip out on sex scenes though and Iâm sure the upcoming B Side will be no different
https://twitter.com/SugarScriptVN, https://sugarscript.tumblr.com/
also july is the month of the yaoi game jam! Despite the name its not all yaoi tropes and that stuff. keep an eye out on Itch for other gay games that will be released at the end of the month!Â

ALSO take a look at the games that were released at last years jam! https://itch.io/jam/yaoijam
Reblogging this here because I know a lot of people followed after being recommended this game as an alternative to the dad dating sim, While MWDH does have lgbt representation for guys, the protagonist herself is a young girl which doesnât exactly help those looking for a game about being a man and dating other men.
these are just a few recommendations off the top of my head but feel free to add on to this.
some sfw freebies ive played in the past:
bugs and kisses - still in development, but you can download or play the demo in your browser for free! you play as a gay bug and its good
the arcana - tarot inspired visual novel, ios and android only, and chapters are still being written and releasedÂ
april was a fool - rpg inspired visual novel, thereâs only one gay romance option in this one, but still a complete and enjoyable game
robotea - a short, but still very cute robot dating sim
these i canât speak for since i havent played them, but ive also heard of:
hustle cat - u work at a cat cafe⌠next steam sale i have to get this..
long story - a high school mystery with 5 romancable characters; u can play two of the episodes free to try it out
Trying to draw buildings
yo hereâs a useful tip from your fellow art ho cynellis⌠use google sketchup to create a model of the room/building/town youâre trying to draw⌠then take a screenshot & use it as a reference! Itâs simple & fun!
Sketchup is incredibly helpful. I canât recommend it enough.
Thereâs a 3D model warehouse where you can download all kinds of stuff so you donât have to build everything from scratch.
reblog to save a life
This is an incomplete tutorial, and it drives me crazy every time I see it come around.
We live in a pretty great digital age and we have access to a ton of amazing tools that artists in past generations couldnât even dream of, but a lot of people look at a cool trick and only learn half of the process of using it.
Hereâs the missing part of this tutorial:
How do you populate your backgrounds?
Well, hereâs the answer:
If the focus is the environment, you must show a person in relation to that environment.
The examples above are great because they show how to use the software itself, but each one just kind of âplopsâ the character in front of their finished product with no regard of the personâs relation to their environment.
How do you fix this?
Well, hereâs the simplest solution:
This is a popular trick used by professional storyboard and comic artists alike when theyâre quickly planning compositions. Itâs simple and it requires you to do some planning before you sit down to crank out that polished, final version of your work, but it will be the difference between a background and an environment.
From Blacksad (artist: Juanjo Guarnido)
From Hellboy (Mike Mignola)
Even if your draftsmanship isnât that great (like mine), people can be more immersed in the story you tell if you just make it feel like there is a world that exists completely separate from the one in which they currently reside â not just making a backdrop the characters stand in front of.
Your creations live in a unique world, and it is as much a character as any other member of the cast. Make it as believable as they are.
Great comments and tutorials!
Iâm a 3d artist and have been exploring the possibilities of using 3d as reference for 2d poses. I want to add a couple of tips and things!
Sketchup is very useful for environment references, and I assume itâs reasonably easy to learn. If youâre interested in going above and beyond, I highly recommend learning a proper 3d modeling program to help with art, especially because you can very easily populate a scene or location with characters!
Using 3ds Max I can pretty quickly construct an environment for reference. But going beyond that, I can also pose a pretty simple âCATâ armature (known in 3d as a rig) straight into the scene, which can be totally customized, from various limbs, tails, wings, whatever, to proportions, and also can be modeled onto and expanded upon (for an example, you could 3d sculpt a head reference for your character and then attach it to the CAT rig, so you have a reference for complex face angles!)
The armature can also be posed incredibly easily. I know programs exist for stuff like this - Manga Studio, Design Doll - but posing characters in these programs is always an exercise in frustration and very fiddly imo. A simple 3d rig is impossibly easy to pose.
By creating an environment and dropping my character rig into it, I have an excellent point of reference when it comes to drawing the scene!
Not only that, but I can also view the scene from whatever angle I could ever want or need, including the character and their pose/position relative to the environment.
We can even quickly and easily expand this scene to include more characters!
Proper 3d modeling software is immensely powerful, and if you wanted to, you could model a complex environment that occurs regularly in your comic or illustration work (say, a castle interior, or an outdoor forest environment) and populate the scene with as many perspective-grounded characters as you need!

@bonkalore well your shitpost has been turned into something very useful how do you feel about this?
The hate for this post resonates my soul.
Character Sheets and character creation â
When creating a character, thereâs a lot of questions you ask yourself. Whether itâs an original character or one youâve been playing for a long time, using a character sheet to get to know your character better can always be a nice idea. With itâs help, youâll be able to think about things you didnât necesarily thought about, and ask some important questions to yourself that might activate your characterâs voice, or help you to get your muse back with them. Everyone has their favorite character sheets, some people prefer to have a lot of questions, some others like it a bit more vague, so hereâs a masterlist of the character sheets I found on various websites and found quite interesting, plus some other things that could be used to help you see, for example, how other character view yours.Â

Characters Perceptions (How do other people perceive your character?)
With these sheets, you could also try to find your characterâs Jung and Enneagram Type or use the Moral Alignment tool. All of these things can be really useful to get a better grip on a character.
Then, if youâre trying to create a character, and do not have many ideas, or get stuck, Iâd suggest for you to roam around TVTropes, which gives you a lot of tropes used for character creation. Maybe you could try to mix a few of these and create an original character?
Or, if youâre a skillful writer and know how to make your character different from another, make a list of characters in fiction you happen to find interesting and why. Try to keep it short. Then, maybe, try to mix and match things from two or three characters, take a character and change their backstory, to see what would change. Play with them to inspire yourself and create something new, original and truly yours.
Oh, and hereâs a little guide to Mary-Sues and OCs, just in case you want to make sure your character isnât going to become a Mary-Sue or a Gary-Stu
And last but not least, this article about building fictional character definitely seemed interesting to me, and is full of many other links that could guide you during the creating of your character and help you file one of these sheets.

⢠donât finish/say complete sentences
⢠interrupt a line of thought with a sudden new one
⢠say âuhâ between words when unsure
