there are a lot of things that are uncomfortable and sad about getting older. i think it’s ok to talk about that candidly. i just wish the conversation wasn’t so focused on women and the way we look. getting wrinkles is actually not even close to the worst of it really

All public universities in my country admit and reject people based on their score on a national standardized test, which features an English module that's worth 1/5 of your final score. This makes not having at least a basic level of English proficiency a major barrier for accessing higher education but yeah, I could have "just... not learned your language" I guess, yeah.

Really gonna need other women to quit with the security theater which isn’t even security theater it’s just them being afraid to go outside and live their lives bc of male violence. I think we need to shift from the extreme focus on avoidance strategies — avoidance informs the vast majority of female protective behaviors — and concentrate more on what our response will be when we INEVITABLY experience (attempts at) male violence. The claim that if you stay guarded and careful within narrow parameters, you will avoid male violence, is a lie. So stop functionally believing it lol

the thing about nonfiction is you come out of it with several more books to put on your to be read list and it's only gonna branch out from there so really the only solution is to read every book in human history starting at the beginning
