i'm currently just helping around with administrative work and technical stuff at a middle school! sometimes the interns help with major exam monitoring but we mostly just help with files and the boring stuff (to be honest i actually prefer the boring work over interacting with middle school students lol)

i'm currently studying education! it's a great major and at this point in my life all i'm considering becoming is a cafe owner or a college professor, so i'm focusing on the more stable career before i look into opening a business :)

yes, dressing modestly is part of my religion (i'm born and raised muslim) but also moroccan culture! in terms of culture you can think of it kinda like a spectrum-- there's different forms of modesty that people follow here and it spans from a full on burqa (although rare) to miniskirts (also very rare). you'd more commonly see pants, midi to maxi skirts, thigh-length shorts, tank tops, t-shirts, maxi dresses, abayas (pretty much a maxi dress) and headscarves.

unfortunately the status quo does restrict women from expressing themselves and dressing as freely and they would compared to the u.s. (in a way), but women and girls challenge it everyday :) my style and the way i dress is considered normal here so i'm privileged to not experience that struggle.

but, my outfits were pretty similar when i lived in the u.s.! (i’d have to say less stylish though, lol). there were a lot more people in my city who dressed like me as well ;)

climate-wise colorado is really dry, and while it was a mild hassle to moisturize in the winter i’d infinitely prefer it over the slightest humidity because i really don't like sweating,,, but it also made me invest in more natural fabrics so it's all an experience of new things!

i do speak arabic! i used to be really skilled at standard arabic when i was younger because i attended afterschool tutoring programs (an arab immigrant canon event lol) but my darija skills definitely need sharpening.
