originally from the port city of anvil, hachilah is a blades agent and has been for a long time. she's undercover when the emperor escapes through the prison. when the emperor dies, she feels as though she was in the wrong place at the wrong time--if she had been better prepared and with the group protecting him from the get-go, she could have done something, and now it's too late for that.

she gets on well with martin when she meets him, and they remain close throughout the oblivion crisis. it's not romantic at all--it's the relationship between a lord and a loyal knight, at least at first. martin does eventually ask if they can set aside the formality to be true friends.

after his sacrifice, distraught and feeling like she failed her emperor a second time, shivering isles happens and hachilah mantles sheogorath. i need to replay that dlc. i remember like... 1% of it bc it's been so long.

my personal headcanon is that martin didn't mantle akatosh--and so after a little (admittedly selfish) wheeling and dealing, hachilah-as-sheogorath winds up in possession of martin's soul. he awakes in the shivering isles to find his friend irrevocably changed, but still very loyal to him.
