I procrastinate so much that I have a gaping hole of dread inside my chest where I think my other emotions are supposed to go. unless a potential employer is reading this, in which case I don’t do that & I have all the normal emotions that human beings have & I love capitalism

what are your twenties if not an endless string of the ghosts of who you thought you would become

really strange how you can be almost at peace with something that happened to you but it will continue to be a defining moment of your life for the rest of your life. you wont think about it much anymore but in a conversation about a film someone will mention the year it was released and you’ll think to yourself, “that was before it happened” and you’ll see an old photo and think how strange it is to have existed before it happened and somehow it’s like living a life in two acts

what if you wore a shirt that featured a picture of you trying to claw your way out of the shirt with a horrid desperate expression and the text "THAT'S NOT ME THAT'S NOT ME I'M TRAPPED IN THE SHIRT"

when the spring evening sunlight hits and you can be productive at six in the evening instead of dissolving into goo. fine. i guess the sunlight is powerful or whatever.

highly recommend keeping a small portrait of a historical figure who met a grisly end on your work desk. for perspective.

watch out when listening to new music! it will sound like the month and year you discovered it in probably forever
