Okay we've seen the upper limits of what an astronomical budget for filmmaking can do. Let's cap the budget at $500,000 for a few years and see what film teams forced to get creative and utilize unknown actors produce.

one time i was making potato soup and i needed broth for it but i was out of broth. but in my dog food cabinet there was a carton of chicken broth that i had bought for my dog. now the box did say HUMAN GRADE and the ingredients were just bog standard chicken broth. it did say something about joint health for dogs on there. but the ingredients were normal. i even compared the ingredients list to some normal person broth and they were the same. so i did put dog broth in that soup and it did taste completely normal. but i did use the dog broth.

this is going around again so people are tagging it with references to various Astérix-related media & i realize that’s my fault for not saying exactly how i want it to be shot. I want it to be shot exactly like a modern heist movie - quick cuts, lens flares, the edges of things weirdly sharply defined, etc. there’s a scene where everyone gets fancy new clothes and obviously it’s expensive togas, which don’t look that different to modern eyes, but the movie treats it exactly like you would the scene where people get sharp new suits. none of the incongruities are ever addressed.

The leader of the heist says she can “take care of” the guards and, when asked how, pulls out a tiny brazier and says she learned how to miniaturize Greek fire. It was easy, really, she just [jargon goes here] and asked called on Artemis for help, and then [more jargon goes here]. This sounds EXACTLY like one of those scenes where the group supergenius creates a gun we all know couldn’t actually exist but it’s so buried in buzzwords you can’t help believing it anyway.
