not me having to write two 20 page papers within two weeks...
Iâm currently trying to stay on top of everything while also trying not to overwork myself. Iâm also completely running on diet coke (to stay awake) and chocolate (to stay sane) by now which is not healthy for me... But after this I will finally have a 2 week break before starting my thesis! Very exciting times :)

Langblr Secret Santa
Hey @noerttiprinsessa Iâm your @langblrsecretsantaâ this year :D
I was told you like cooking and baking so I looked for some christmas recipes in your target languages! (Except for Finnish because I donât speak a word of it, please forgive me qwq)
Tea Time!
Hi @pannebandâ! Iâm your Secret Santa this year :D Iâve never studied any of your target languages, so please forgive me that this post is more about culture than languages themselves⌠You said that you loved tea - so do I! Therefore I thought Iâd make a post about some tea habits in countries that youâre interested in :) I hope youâll enjoy it ^^
* * *
â South KoreaÂ
tea (drink made from the leaves of tea plant) - ě°¨ (cha, hanja čť)
Korea has a long-standing and rich tradition of drinking tea. You can read about the history of Korean Tea Ceremony (darye, čśçŚŽ) or just watch the video of the ceremony performed by tea master Yeonok Kim:
You can also check these 10 recipes for âstrangeâ Korean teas :) (and maybe later try them out? :))
â Russia
tea (drink made from the leaves of tea plant) - ŃаК (Äaj) m. inanimate
I found this informative video about the history of tea and tea drinking habits in Russia :)
* * *
Now, in every North Germanic language, tea (a drink) translates to: te :)
â Denmark
I couldnât find much information about Danish habits concerning tea, beside the fact that generally people in Denmark prefer green tea (source). However, there is the Danish Tea Association and they have a youtube channel, which I think is worth checking out if you understand Danish :)
â The Faroe Islands
Again, I didnât find much information about tea-related habits on the Faroe Islands, but you can read about Faroese food in general and about the heimablĂdni, which translates as home hospitality, and itâs a possibility of a dining experience in peopleâs homes! When reading the menus offered by the families which participate in heimablĂdni, I noticed that some of them offer tea after dinner, or even more specifically, tea with milk :)
â Sweden
Coffee is much more popular in Sweden than tea, but you can read about Swedish tea culture in this blog article.
There is also the SĂśder tea - a Swedish blend of tea made from black tea, tropical fruits and flowers, invented in 1979, and apparently still popular, not only in Sweden.
Regarding a somewhat more unique approach - I found an interesting recipe (and a beautiful video) from Jonna Jinton:
â Norway
Nope. No tea, only coffee ;-) Obviously, there are tea shops in Norway and people who drink tea, but from what Iâve read, itâs the coffee thatâs The Thing there. You can read an interesting article about the coffee culture in Norway here.
â Â Iceland
Again, from what I gathered, there is no tea drinking culture in Iceland. However, you can read an article about a special tea exhibition/experience which was held in Reykjavik in 2014.

So this is it! I hope you found something interesting to you in this post :) I wish you Happy Holidays with lots of tea, chocolate, and everything else that you love :)
Figured I should learn cursive eventually...

So today I finished reading this book:
It is about 660 pages long and I read it completely in Swedish (the original is Norwegian), and it took me a bit over a month to finish! Iâm proud of myself :)
I really liked the story and the world which was all based on norse mythology. Very interesting and Iâm happy that I was able to immerse myself in this world even though I read it in my fourth language. Iâm excited for the sequels :D
