A mini PHM comic about Grace growing old. I wanted to explore two ideas: Rocky dealing with Grace’s dementia and Grace wanting to donate his body to science. I spend so much time on l figuring out the dialogue (some part still feel clunky to me) but I hope it express my thoughts on where I think Grace’s life would go :)

how long do you think he sat in his ship and just cried because he’s about to leave the one friend he had to go back to a planet that sent him to die? how long do you think he just stood in his space suit, trying to get himself to go and finally say goodbye to the only true friend he remembers having?

do you think he partly feels jealous that rocky is going back to a planet that loves him, and he has nobody he can trust back on earth? he doesn’t even know if earth survived this long!

What would they think? Would they think he’s a coward, would they think back on him with pity and regret and sadness, would some of them be angry with Stratt, or would they know exactly what had happened? Does Carl forgive Stratt, knowing it absolutely had to be done but unable to look her in the eye ever again? Ryland Grace is hailed a hero. But there are people who know what they did to that poor, cowardly science teacher, and people who know that there were no better options.
