i don’t actually blame grrmfor this but it’s so funny when i read bran chapters and they flow so effortlessly in my head it’s like i’m floating and euphoric then i remember grrm finds these excruciatingly difficult to write.

i mean it’s probably typical pains of the writing process but a notable example with bran & grrm. and this is from me someone who believes bran chapters are some of the best writing in asoiaf and contemporary fantasy writing period

I disagree with the idea that fire & blood is more difficult to adapt than asoiaf because the former is a vague history book while the latter is a proper fleshed out story. I think F&B being the skeleton of a story should make it all the more easier for writers to get creative with it, to add meat to an already existing skeleton without constantly worrying about not living up to the source material since the source itself is very vague. Meanwhile with asoiaf you have a lot of expectations on your shoulders because you are dealing with storylines and characters that are very dense and vivid and you gotta translate that well to the screen. I think the problem with F&B adaptations so far is that creatives are straight up breaking and amputating the skeleton and the meat they add to it is often not good.
