this is another incorrect animal behavior post. the OP is a really talented illustrator but this post is not accurate and could get someone bitten. aggression and submission are not two separate dog behaviors or emotions, and they OFTEN overlap. anyone who has been bitten by a scared dog, which is almost everyone who has ever been bitten by a dog, can tell you that. aggression in all mammals including dogs and humans is very often triggered by fear, and a dog who is about to get aggressive (in like, a split second) will often warn you about it by lip licking and other submission behaviors. a dog can be aggressive and submissive at the same time, and often is
