GabeMatt are so buzzy in that very NY kinda way. They have this effortless, fast-paced chemistry where the banter never stops, they're constantly chirping each other, and yet there's this underlying loyalty that somehow makes all the teasing feel incredibly affectionate. They just fit the city's energy, loud, quick-witted, a little chaotic, but with so much warmth underneath it all.

Celleno has absolutely consumed me too, but in a completely different way. I love reading them through an older sibling lens, Aiden growing up feeling like he's always come second to Mack because Mack is the prodigal child. No matter how hard he tries, he can never quite catch up, so eventually he learns to make peace with it. Then Leno comes along, and suddenly he finds someone who understands what it's like to love a person from the sidelines, in a way that feels quietly heartbreaking.

Oh, and I fricking love Natecale with my whole heart. They are so unbelievably precious to me. There's just something about Cale arriving as the prodigy rookie expected to help save the Avalanche, only to be met with Nate's initial resentment because Tyson Barrie, one of Nate's closest friends, was the one moved out to make room for him. It makes their eventual bond all the more satisfying. And then there's Cale's quiet tendency to feel like he comes second to all of Nate's other relationships and situationships, Sid, Jo, Ty and everyone else who's been in Nate's orbit for years. There's this constant undercurrent of Cale wondering where he fits, while Nate, in his own very Nate way, keeps proving that Cale has carved out a place that's entirely his own. They make me unwell.

He still falls for the blonde, blue-eyed love interest with old Hollywood curls and pink lips, who looks like he just stepped off a movie set. But instead of being satisfied with the blurry outline of a partner, Mack can’t help noticing every single detail that makes Will special and so uniquely Will that he could never be swapped out for someone else. Will, who does let Mack call him over with nothing more than a beckoning finger, sometimes, but who doesn’t blindly follow Mack’s lead either. Will who matches Mack step for step.

And Will was raised to put money and fame first, to chase status and everything it symbolizes, the kind of heir who’s supposed to marry someone with royal blood. But he can’t succeed either, because he’s desperate to work for it, to earn it. So of course he falls for the boy who is royalty in his own way, measured by a standard that matters far more to Will than any old bloodline ever could, because it’s one they’ve both dedicated their lives to, one they’ve bled, sweated, and cried for.

The first was during the Olympics. Mack was playing like an absolute beast on McDavid’s line, their chemistry was one of the biggest talking points of the tournament, he was the youngest player on Team Canada, and he finished as the tournament’s leading goal scorer. When he came back, Will was obviously there to be a shoulder to cry on after what was, subjectively, Mack’s greatest defeat to date. But he also commissioned that hype reel to that specific song almost to say, this is who we are to each other. This is what we can do together. He lets me post this because he wants to be associated with me just as much as I want to be associated with him.

Now fast forward to the most recent case. Mack signs the $18.8 million extension, becomes the highest paid player in the NHL, everyone’s thirsting after him on main and probably in his DMs, every media outlet wants a piece of him, every athlete who’s been alive for more than two minutes names him as their dream linemate, the newly recruited Baby Sharks all have enormous hockey crushes on him, and people are flying to Vancouver just to train with him.

He may be Macklin Celebrini to the rest of you, but to me? That’s my silly rabbit. He lets me film TikToks of him. Y’all might be in his DMs, but he spent a week rolling out the red carpet for me in Vancouver before following me all the way back to Boston because apparently he can’t get enough of me. And guess what? I can’t get enough of him either. Good thing he’s mine. So when you speak of him, don’t forget little old me. All that money’s obviously going toward our shared place. What’s his is mine. I get exclusive rights to him.
