Y'know if there's one thing that really grinds my gears about the Blade Lineage Intervallo 2: Electric Boogaloo, it's that, well... do any of the Sinners give a shit about Bamboo-Hatted Kim? Like, Yi Sang will commiserate about S Corp's state but by the end of it all I really can't say that I believe any of the Sinners really care about him. In general, when an Intervallo puts the spotlight on a specific non-Sinner character, by the end of at least one Sinner should have Opinions about them. Hohenheim has Faust and Heathcliff, Xichun has Hong Lu and Sinclair, and Kira has Ryoshu; I absolutely think Rodion would have Opinions about Herbert if he appeared again as the T Corp CEO, but TKT was also mostly about Rodion, and Herbert didn't actually get that much spotlight. By contrast, I earnestly can't say that Mnestic Experience built any character relationships with Kim except with the other LCD members, and it honestly just feels like PM trying to do some early advertisement for their hypothetical Distortion Detective game.

I've been thinking about Outis so much lately. She's so deeply unwell. There's something so wrong with her. My treacherous advisor <3... She's been bracing herself for The Betrayal since canto 1 and she can't pretend its just a part of her personality anymore!!
But here's the thing. Here's the kicker. While I think Outis would betray us if she thought it was necessary, I don't think that's what she's been bracing for. She thinks we are going to betray her. She's utterly convinced of this even after 7 cantos (I'm on canto 8rn) of Dante very much not abandoning any of their coworker. And that is SO scary. Whyyy does she believe that. Outis what tf did you do. I feel so much dread when I think about what her canto' s gonna be like.

Good Morning Dante Fans, can I talk about the Clock's Death Acceptance?
Okay so I'm back on my bullshit again since people seemed to enjoy my last post!!! So, I SHALL BE INSANE ONCE MORE.
Since this is a longer post, everything will be under the cut.
Might include newest Intervallo 9-5-2 spoilers and small mentions of other Canto's, but I'm trying to keep it vague since this is mainly about Dante, who's not too focused on during anything.

Does anyone notice how quickly Dante accepts death, pain and misery if it's themself?
Now, I am not referring to anything with the Sinners, not at all. Infact, you can actually see that they GENUINELY panic everytime a Sinner may be in danger.
Be it the most recent intervallo, any time they are attacked by enemies, Ryoshu literally passing out, Heathcliff distorting, Vergilius defending them-
Dante is always quick to grow concerned, quick to make sure everyone is alright and rewinded and hopefully happy!
Especially if they need to go on their next canto or if it's in the middle of the canto or if it's about keeping literally anyone safe from judgement.
But themself?
They brush themself aside like they are dirt on the STREETS.
This seems to place a mindset where death or injury is also easily accepted, as several times throughout the story, Dante seems to rather quickly accept their demise, even finding humor in the injuries they harbor.
Either by deflecting such things, simply getting over it way too quickly in my opinion or joking around-
They do not seem to truly care if they get injured in a fight as long as the Sinners or companions are not in danger.
In-fact, if it's necessary, they seem to even go in harms way to prevent any further harm from Sinners, even if they cannot rewind themself.
This also goes for if they are attacked by the Sinners THEMSELF, by the way.
This could very well be past behavior. Perhaps not in human Dante's case for other people, but easily accepting death or letting it happen....does have some implications, no?
Especially if they simply refuse to acknowledge any wounds.
Now, due to my pea brain, I DO NOT REMEMBER ALL OF THEM-!!! So, I simply decided to grab those I remember best.

NUMBER 1: DANTE GETTING STRANGLED AND JOKING ABOUT IT.
Our first one is already one hell of a sentence but it's one of the most notable mentions.
During Sinclairs Canto, Dante gets caught in the grip of Guido and Saude [seeming] to make sure they get strangled.
Someones usual response would probably be panic or other things-
This is Dante's response.
This. Is what they say in their last moments.
Not pleading, not worrying for their own life much. Simply questioning if they could have been a better manager and literally JOKING about Heathcliff enjoying seeing them getting killed.
Of course, the Sinners probably are in part of this behavior forming due to their....past lack of care.
[No worries, I love the found family trope too but GOD, if the Sinners didn't treat Dante like shit back then.]
But even then, tight after Sinclair arrives and they are free, they just go-
EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE PHYSICALLY INCAPABLE LF DOING SHIT, THEY JUST WANT SINCLAIR TO BE SAFE.
THEY MAKE ME SICK.
Anyway with that, we shall proceed onto our next candidate.
Number 2: DANTE GETTING PIERCED BY A HARPOON AND NOT CARING FOR IT.
During Ishmeals Canto, she's not happy the entire time to say the least, which causes an encounter that could nearly bring them all to suffer great consequences-
What does Dante do?
GO INFRONT OF THE HARPOON AND GET INJURED SO ISHMEAL DOESNT GET PUNISHED.
ARE YOU SEEING THIS???? They do not even care. They are actively deflecting and joking about this. Are you kidding me.
The fact that Ishmeal is angry for the entirety of the cutscene does not make it any better
They specifically SAY that they took it for ishmeal so she would not get in trouble.
They got hurt. Potentionaly nearly killing them. Just so they wouldn't compromise the mission and get ishmeal in trouble.
I will strangle this clock myself.
ANYWAY NEXT POINT.
Number 3: DANTE PASSES OUT AND IGNORES THAT.
Now, this clip specifically comes from my favorite moment in Yield my bones, which is about Dante having their first moment of going berserk and SPOUTING REDACTED.
Now while I love the dissociative episode as I call it as a whole, the after reaction always gets me.
Cause they say-
MY CLOCK, YOU JUST PASSED OUT, I THINK YOI REALLY SHOULD ME MORE CONCERNED ABOUT YOURSELF.
This is another case of easily brushing stuff of. Which. Happens a lot. A whole lot.
Alas, we need to continue on.

Final point 4: DANTE CASUALLY ACCEPTING THEIR TABOO DEMISE.
Now, this one is really subtle I must admit but like.
This is the response to everyone panicking about Dante maybe dying due to accidently breaking a taboo:

JUST A CASUAL "Oh welp." LIKE MY CLOCK IN CHRIST YOU MIGHT DIE, WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS-
So yeah, this is pretty much all I have due to my dinky memory.
My point is in TLDR: Dante very easily accepts pain, death and more and doesn't care much for themself.
I need them to axtually breakdown, sob, get angry, snap like a twig, etc.
I mean, *I'm* not a thin red-haired Caucasian mother with a bizarre fixation on the narrative that I'm martyring myself to protect women and children from what I perceive to be an unnatural and predatory group of fringe outsiders who are incapable of experiencing real human feelings like love and hope and desire for peace in a better world and seek solely to transform their bodies into something unnatural and conquer the natural world by force, fully ignoring the actual and tangible real-world problems that surround me like poverty, child abuse, racism, and slavery
But if I WAS, I think I might write a story where a thin red-haired Caucasian mother sacrifices herself to protect her child from an unnatural and predatory fringe outsider incapable of experiencing real human feelings like love and hope and desire for peace in a better world who seeks solely to transform his body into something unnatural and conquer the natural world by force, fully ignoring the actual and tangible real-world problems that also exist in the story like poverty, child abuse, racism, and slavery
dress is an indicator of status that poor people, people of color, disabled people, some religious people, and women consistently fail to meet due to social prejudice or barriers to acquiring the appropriate clothing
obviously there are scenarios where specific clothing is required (like PPE at a job site)
but a person coming to an office job in sweatpants doesn't make them less qualified to do their work, it just means they're more comfortable while doing it
"you're required to wear a face shield, an apron/coat, and closed toed shoes in this lab environment for your safety" awesome perfect, i love safety, and i can wear whatever i want under it.
"you're required to wear a suit to present your lab work" i do not become less intelligent wearing non-formal clothing, and this presentation has now become inaccessible to someone who cannot wear appropriate formal dress
earlier I was coming back up from skating and one of the starstruck little kids from across the hall asked me, “how are you allowed to drive on the inside?” (referring to the fact that I carefully skate in the hallway and elevator, because swapping shoes on and off for the one-block commute to and from the park is a massive pain in the ass), and I swear to god the dialogue options that flashed up on my heads-up display were
[] Nothing in the lease explicitly says I can’t, and all uncodified rules are merely suggestions
[] I’m probably not, but the only people in this building who are fast enough to actually stop me are the maintenance guys who are all charmed by my kind green eyes and adorable dog

Limbus update: Spent two irl days on the Jia Qiu fight in 8-20, but I managed to solo it with Dieci Hong Lu. Rest of the Canto was trivial for House of Spiders team to clean up (everyone say "thank you HoS Index Nursefather Yi Sang").
Really fucking good storyline, as they all have been. Tian Tian goes crazy.
Narratively I did find this conclusion kind of fascinating for how light it is. I've been trying to explain the particular way the ProjMoon games approach social change to other people and I've mostly just convinced them that the games have a very dour view of it, which is true but the general point I've always taken away from characters like, say, Phillip in Ruina, is that "the shonen action hero emotional spitfire is the LAST person you want to follow into the flames. To act upon emotion and nothing else is selfish and WILL get everyone with you killed", and you see that crop up multiple times in their games.
So Hong Lu ultimately winning and getting most of what he wanted feels almost too good to be true. Of course, he isn't the shonen emotional firebrand. His relationship with Xichun and his decision to save her aren't done for some grand social design and are not spur of the moment acts of righteous passion- they're the culmination of years and years of build up. Which is what I think the general vibe of the trilogy is trying to say: you can't save anyone without a plan, resources, and careful consideration. Ayin had all of these things, and he still didn't succeed in the way he really wanted because of his callous disregard of Angela.
Rodya's been out of focus for a while, but I imagine once she steps back into the spotlight we're going to get a harrowing storyline about what, how, and why social change can happen in The City. I imagine she's learned a lot from her time in H Corp.
Every part of Vegas feels like it's pulled out of fiction and is Incredibly off-putting. It's a major city in the middle of one of the world's most inhospitable deserts
