Jiffy Lube originally lubricated cars with Jif peanut butter, but broke up with the company after an argument as to how the latter was pronounced.
Also it destroyed every car engine they worked on.
They still do that last part.
I can't find where I dug into it, but this poster has pissed me off before. Those are the wrong planes!
The Soviet Union would have been using Tupolev Tu-95s for long-range nuclear bombing of America, and those are the silhouettes of like, Tupolev Tu-4s (or Boeing B-29s (same thing)) which never had the range to bomb America while carrying a nuke.
To be fair, it does look like this is from 1951, which means it predates the Tu-95.
It's hard to read in this scan, but it's definitely 1961: There's submarines on the map. The Soviet Union didn't have any ballistic missile submarines until 1960.
You're so busy worrying about the planes you never even saw Mississippi devour Louisiana.

Steve Rude illustrating Superman's ability to shatter chains.
How does Supes do it? It's explained below:
If you do it fast enough the tension from one link breaking doesn't release fast enough before other links also break. Of course this means Superman is basically willfully filling the air with shrapnel when he does that, rather than just safely breaking the chain.
