recent mcr IS a pretty interesting study in like. big music industry capitalism. because they did this incredible amazing creative comeback tour with a new concept and a great new song and then it became clear that there was huge demand and so now they're doing a ton of merch bullshit and reworking old concepts and not really doing new stuff and whatever. and this is most likely less of a Four Guys In A Band thing and more of a Big Record Label thing. but what matters the most is i don't really care, because i'm allowed to like my big millionaire band and i ALSO like a lot of musicians that are creating new things, charging reasonable prices, making good merch and caring about their fanbase. and i think this every time they do a huge merch drop or anything. i'm not disillusioned because i wasn't illusioned to begin with. this is just how mcr works. you need to have a balance of big bands and small bands. my happiness does not rely on whether or not mcr are "good people" and if yours does you should try to like. manage that a little bit. because you'll be disappointed. i have said this before. and i still like the music!
