when i was a tiny baby queer (aka a 24-year-old), i went to my first pride festival probably three months after i kicked ex-gay therapy to the curb and came out to my parents. being the people they are, my parents came with me. they weren’t really sure about this whole gay thing, but they loved me and wanted me to be safe and happy and wanted to be involved in what was important to me, so they came along. anyway i wanted a memento of my first pride, you know, and this one vendor was selling keyrings, and i liked it, so i bought one. do you remember those italian charm bracelets that were all the rage like 10-15 years ago? it was a keychain like that, and it had a rainbow rooster, a rainbow cat, and then just a rainbow, and so I bought it.
i run into my mom a couple of vendors over and she goes oh you bought something? what’d you get? so i showed her, and i was like, “I’m not sure why it’s a rooster and a cat. Seems kind of random. But I liked the rainbows.”
and my mom, who was some form of minister’s wife for most of my childhood and teenagerhood, stares at me like she thinks i’m joking.

Im ranting about my personal body weight and the distribution of it. This is your only warning.
Ok not to hate on my body cause i do love it most of the time, but also why is it like this!
Before i started my labor intensive job i was at around 125 lbs. (Im 5'3 so im pretty sure its a healthy weight and if it isnt i dont wanna hear it) im currently sitting at around 138 lbs which is not a crazy weight gain considering i started this job over a year ago and ive put on some muscle and been eating more junk food.
But my question is why does my weight gain go to my back??? Like right below my shoulder blades. I used to not have rolls and i now have one developing and i had to go up in size for my jeans and leggings. Meanwhile my wrists stayed bony AND my knees have become even more bony.
Like I used to have some mass around my legs and knees that wasnt just muscle. But now i feel like my the bones in my shin are more prominent and my knees feel even more bony, al.ost as if they lost the meat around them.
Its just.
WHY
Why is my body weight distribution so weird! Im not that mad about gaining weight, cause i can easily loose that if i start replacing junk food with home cooked meals and start exercising more. Plus im betting that a decent amount of it is muscle gain anyway.
What im mad at and confused is the distribution of it.
