What could possibly make sans jealous?
it is for sure different for each Sans
UT!Sans: Honest to gods, listen to him when he tells you he doesnât have a jealous bone in his body. Its both a shitty pun and true.Â
Probably its a side effect of having extremely low self-worth, and a sense of humor about it. Even if he caught you flirting with someone else, he wouldnât get jealous, just slowly withdraw. But the thing to keep in mind is that trust is one of the biggest things that matters to Sans in a potential partner. He has to trust the other person completely before heâll allow himself to get emotionally involved. Basically, if youâve gotten to the point that heâs confessed romantic feelings for you, heâs already pretty certain youâre not going to cheat.
Other people flirting with you never bothers him emotionally but he does enjoy making life hard for them by responding to all their questions and comments like theyâre directed at him. If youâre genuinely uncomfortable heâll get you out of there, but otherwise its a field day for shitty jokes. Getting a laugh out of you from that quickly washes away any bad feelings watching someone else make a pass at you might have created.
UF!Sans: This guy, on the other hand, gets jealous at the drop of a hat. Honestly, he brings it on himself. He likes to show you off whenever possible, but the problem with showing you off is that now other people are looking at you. People that are not him. Unacceptable.
As with Sans, trust is paramount for Red before he gets seriously involved with other people. Its one thing if youâre the occasional hook up, but if heâs settled into a serious relationship he needs to feel reasonably reassured that youâre not gonna leave him. So its unlikely heâd ever accuse you of cheating unless he found some serious evidence of it.
But that doesnât mean heâs the most secure about it. Watching other people stare, catcall, or even talk to you for too long hits deep at a couple of insecurities and activates his competitive instincts. He restrains himself from getting in fights but heâll be doing his damnedest to bring your attention back to him. Which, fortunately or unfortunately, heâs really really good at.
US!Sans: Heâs not necessarily the jealous type in the sense of being suspicious of your friends or anything, but Blue likes to feel that he has a full handle on your time and attention. As Iâve mentioned before, heâs often haunted by feelings that heâs annoying people. Being treated like a kid so often has also made him sensitive to the idea that heâs just a hanger-on, someone you put up with.Â
Whatâs going to make Blue jealous is never having time with you. He understands, of course, that sometimes you get busy, whether with school, work, or whatever. Heâs not a child, he doesnât need 24/7 supervision or anything. But little things can often snowball. One too many plans that end up getting cancelled. Not showing as much affection as normal. Not answering texts as often or as quickly as usual.Â
He tries to be understanding, make excuses for you as long as he can. But youâre going to start noticing that heâs more a bit more touchy. Snappish even, which is unusual for him. Whether consciously or unconsciously his texts get shorter. Its a pretty easy fix. Just have an earnest discussion with him, and spoil him with a bit of attention when you have the time. Heâs more than happy to repay the favor. Blue really does do his best to support you in all your endeavours, and if youâre working hard on something he wants to cheerlead you on. But for better or for worse he has his own needs.
SF!Sans: The worst of all worlds. He has Blueâs need for attention and Redâs possessive streak any time he finds someone so much as looking at you wrong. If Black isnât acting jealous then heâs not interested, and if youâre repelled by jealous types then heâs not for you.Â
Its a natural side effect of living in a world where everything was a resource scramble. If he has something or someone that he cares about and thinks is worthwhile its natural for him to assume that everyone else is out to get it too. Heâs more than willing to defend his âprizeâ from onlookers.
For the record this doesnât mean that he thinks of you as an object, though it can have those undertones. Black respects you first and foremost as a partner, and if you draw a line in the sand and tell him firmly not to cross it, heâll listen. But his first instinct in any social setting is to broadcast loud and clear to the world
âtheyâre mine.â
