A sphinx is both the legends of Egyptian, Mesopotamian, and Greek myths. The sphinx is a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human. Sphinxes originated in the Near East - it was likely Pharaoh Khafre who had the Sphinx of Giza erected. Art after that point in time often depicted sphinxes trampling enemies of kings. In Greek lore, the sphinxes were female, but in Eastern lore, the sphinx could be either gender. There is one Greek sphinx that stands out among the rest... The winged sphinx of Boeotian Thebes terrorized people with a riddle taught to her by the Muses. "What is it that has one voice and yet becomes four-footed, two-footed, and three-footed?" When the riddle was answered correctly, the person could marry the widowed queen, Jocasta. Every time someone answered incorrectly, the sphinx would eat them. Oedipus was the first to give the correct answer: "a man"; he crawls as an infant, walks when grown, and needs the support of a staff when of old aged. The sphinx then either killed herself by hurling herself off a cliff, or Oedipus dispatched her. Oedipus then, of course, unknowingly married his own mother Jocasta as the prophecy stated in his myth. IN MY OPINION Sphinx in your chart can represent a) where you might be seen as menacing, b) your reputation for being cruel or threatening, c) your wisdom, d) your appreciation for riddles, and/or e) your ability to appear omniscient.

Greek Mythology - Daedalus, Icarus's father, had told Icarus to be careful. Why? Icarus and his father were in confinement, Icarus wanted the taste of what it's like to leave, he wanted to break free. Icarus connected wax and feathers in order to make a pair of wings. Icarus wasn't worried about anything, his only goal was to leave. His father warned him "Don't fly too close to the sun!" And of course, once Icarus flew. He never listened, his wings started melting because of the wax, and Icarus fell to his own demise..

Icarus in the chart

Asteroid Icarus is our fall. He is our own self-undoing, our own detriment. Wherever this asteroid is placed is where we seem to gain hope but make mistakes. However, Icarus, flew close to the sun, he didn't listen to his father and instead his wings melted. The house Icarus is placed in is also where we wish to shine, but can end in mishaps. We also might think fluidly or cluelessly where this asteroid is placed. I see Icarus as a representation of the fool card in tarot.

Icarus conjunct AC - Possibly creates a confident personality. If this is the case then these people end up being over-confident sometimes, leading them into risky territory, some people actually see this as well since it's conjunct the ascendant. This placement is a bold and ambitious personality, they seem to shine bright amongst their peers unless other placements lessen this effect. People with with this placement can look strong, beautiful or just somehow physically attractive. They may have admirers from afar. For people who flex or like to show off, have a attention, please be careful with this placement, you may end up hurting yourself in the end or not getting the most positive reactions from some people

Icarus conjunct IC - Can bring negative traits from childhood or traits that might become problematic (EX - someone who had to distance themselves from their family in childhood but when they're a parent they might accidentally distance themeselves from their kids, no emotional support) Bringing old customs or traditions to the household may cause harm when you grow up which might not serve the family in a good way in modern day. In another way this can also make someone not want to listen to tradition and want an unconvential household when they grow up, be careful with this, you might manifest an unconventional home but not in the way you presumed it would turn out! Family might also describe a person with this aspect as a personality like Icarus when they were young

Icarus conjunct DC - Icarus traits are given to the romantic partner. They can seem determined when they have their mind set to a goal. Sometimes stubborn but probably for a good cause. This partner can like taking risks but these risks need to be handled carefully. This placement can represent actually falling into risky territory when it comes to looking for a partner and starting a relationship. You may (unless other aspects totally crumble this effect) be the person that is "sure" that your partner is truly perfect, whereas others can easily tell there may be something off with them. Maybe they take advantage of you and you just brush the minor things off. Icarus can play a big part in relationships in some way and you may attract this energy in them

Icarus conjunct MC - If you gain a high reputation, dont cause destruction in this or act impulsively, it will really take a bite out of you. People might create and get you into scandals in career! Keep an eye out for them and shoot them with your bow and arrow ^ also this placement can indicate the public looking at you as someone like Icarus, a leader who can infact act without regard, someone who is strong willed and denies anything but freedom, enjoys adventure and can be charismatic

Icarus conjunct Sun - This aspect may seem bad but there is also different outlooks I see with this. Icarus obviously, since he flew too close to the sun, he, well, in the end died. This sun could totally burn the asteroid and its effects. But another way of seeing this is Icarus making bigger or harsher outcomes. Icarus would be brightened, thus making it seen more. I actually personally lean more towards my first assumption, based off of greek mythology

Icarus conjunct Moon - A theory, I think this would lessen the detriment Icarus causes on himself. The moon is not hot it can't burn, instead the mother nature of emotional moon is patient and reminds Icarus to be careful. The moon is a home, it is safe, and as a shelter or mother, it protects. This placement can be considered a blessing and can protect the person from self undoing. However in a more negative light, the moon is, after all, emotions, Icarus ignored his father. Someone with this aspect can act impulsively or act based off of emotions more often than logic, stay aware of this

1st House // Aries

Having characteristics of being strong headed. Icarus got close to the sun and in the Aries original house of mars, this can create a really passionate personality that everyone can see!! You don't really go with the tides or trends at times and don't care what others think as well, you seem to be totally fine and sure of what you want and will do! This placement can appear like Leo or the asteroid Apollo in a way. You may gain attention however sometimes it may mot be good attention, people might become envious, jealous, see you as too "powerful" or just randomly seek the worst for you

2nd House // Taurus

An indication if stubborness (Taurus). This placement can indicate an area that you want total control of. You could be the person who wants money and flourishes when you have it. People with this placement can also be the ones who spend money more often than others! Sometimes this aspect can create money driven people who will work the hardest out of a bunch of people to attain it, this is because they want the freedom to not worry about how much they spend or what they spend some on. I've theorized, more uncommonly, with this placement this can make a person flex their money to boost their ego (sun), a person with not as much money might subconsciously want to be able to show off power because they feel confined and limited. Depending on the money making spectrum, this can go two ways also! If you are a person who makes or has a stable income then you could make purchases without thought every once and awhile, the detriment here is overspending, be careful. People who have a lower income or budget, may overwork, please take care of yourself when you find time, your health is the most important. Also this placement can make fire possible. If you cook please remember to turn off your equipment, stove, etc. If you do gardening, flowers/plants have a possibility of getting to dry/too much sun. Please water them well ^-^

3rd House // Gemini

Words can cut deeper than we think. Sometimes you may find yourself in situations where you say something but someone takes offense, you don't understand why, but it may have come out wrong or rude, even if it wasn't intended, this can cause misunderstandings. Another way this placement plays out is the way you speak in general, for people who have a lisp, mutter their words, jumble them, stutter, unfortunately this may cause people to tease. As sad as it is, this can also cause bullying in school. If you are an introvert then this can be seen as somewhat of a self destructive trait, this is mostly seen with people who wish to fit in or create friends, however if they're quiet then they are accidentally blocking themeselves from socializing, thus, no friends. If you have siblings then be careful how you act, this may spark arguments that could have been instigated or fired up by you. No matter what it was about or whether you thought you were right or wrong, the words were still there and they still ignited the arguement and fed into it. Walk away love ^ If you enjoy short travels or vacations then be mindful of what you do or how you act! Also if you hang out or have neighborhood friends, make sure to not make enemy neighbors as this can lead to unwanted behaviors from them, like letting their dog pee on your lawn etc 🤺 random, but if you talk too much then make sure the other person cares to talk and that you also don't gossip or over exaggerate past situations. Also if you hate school and don't want to do your classwork then this can cause trouble, especially in grades. If you try to make good grades however school doesn't really suit you and you aren't "amazing" at traditional education then not studying could be your downfall and the reason why you suffer from poor grades

4th House // Cancer

You can have a heart that belongs at home. This aspect can play out in many different ways. If you hang onto childhood or even past trauma then let it go it doesn't serve you anymore. If you are someone who enjoys the idea of becoming a housewife/househusband then remember to check what it truly means to be one, don't be lazy. If you use your home as your only form of comfort and don't lean on anything else then this can prove to become shaky. Don't be overprotective of your children it will backfire, the same if you are flaky and don't show any support. If you are introverted and are always home when you can, this can be seen as a sort of downfall for socializing and creating friends or exploring the outside world. Be prepared to take risks in life because if you don't and always stay in your shell, then you won't grow and this may cause unnecessary reactions in situations later in life. If you get a home make sure it's what you want and you inspect everything, if not you might accidentally miss something and get something totally unexpected (EX - "Hey I'd like to take apartment 163" and then when you get there, there's a roach infestation or mold/utility issues when you could have asked for a quick tour) be careful how you also handle household rules and such, others may disagree and you aren't always fully right. If you talk to your mom often then be wary of how you converse with her or what you say, do, etc. This can really hit ya later if you mess up. Most likely emotionally.

5th House // Leo

There is a thing as too much fun. If your someone like this, then be mindful. As you goof off and be silly with friends make sure to not cause trouble to others or harm yourself in the act. If you like your hobbies very much but too the point where you are always busy, make sure to take some rest or also experience other things ^ if you don't have any hobbies or hardly any then this can be a self-harm, because if you get bored from it then this could be why. Expressing yourself is one thing but shoving it in other peoples faces is another, don't do this or it can make people turn their backs away from you. The 5th house holds leo energy, so if you are dramatic or want attention often then be careful with what attention you attract. For people who enjoy love or even the idea of love at first sight, this is dangerous, always make sure to find out what the person is like and everything first. If you are a teen and in a relationship, don't go ignoring orders and sneaking out late at night, you can actually get yourself into trouble. Sometimes this placement can indicate indulging in things too much. For instance a person who plays video games with this might play too much and not socialize or get into rough situations in relationships with the parents. Icarus here also gives a fun personality. 6th House // Virgo

This placement can indicated coworkers who might not serve your best interest, make sure you know who you work with. If you have health related problems then please remember to take your medication and take it wisely, don't overdose by accident. This placement can also suggest other things related to health. Take care of your body, you could self destruct by allowing your health to fall. For people who go to the gym, don't overwork yourself, and be careful to not sprain or pull a muscle. This placement as ruled by virgo can show other things. You may be stingy or cautious with who you choose to work with at your job, you could be analytical and always read between the lines. Staying organized can help with this placement. If not you may invite unwanted guests/pests if your environment is messy.

7th House // Libra

Can indicate active partners. Your partners could also wear their heart on their sleeve. Very go-getter energy, they enjoy chasing after things, actually they could be the chaser in love lmao. Watch out for business deals and accepting them or offering them to the wrong people. Don't ignore or reject any advice others try and give you in relationships as this will be your downfall. Be careful also how you treat relationships, understand that not everyone is like you, others may enjoy and feel more comfortable on different parts of the spectrum than you are. If you wear makeup make sure you aren't allergic to it. Same with different clothing fabrics or jewelry. Be careful teasing others and flirting. Don't overindulge either, this can cause difficulties in money or health. Also your partner may do this so be wary. Don't be a push over as well!

8th House // Scorpio

A possibility of "fight or flight" in dangerous situations. Please understand who you're going to pick a fight with before you do it, and if you run away from something then be careful where you run to or what obstacles can block your path. Someone with this placement who is a gambler or plays lottery can actually doom themeselves, if they don't win but keep buying things like lottery tickets, then they are basically self-sabotaging, waisting their money and over-spending. A person who enjoys sex and love affairs may get too caught up and get into situations such as (for a male) getting someone pregnant or messing with the wrong people who know others. Be careful with things such as taxes, loans or debts. Pay them off. You will thank me later. If you enjoy mysterious occult related things then please be careful what you search up or go to, this situation reminds me of things like the "Dark Web" oh also control any sexual urges you have ma'am/sir 👍

9th House // Sagittarius

If you get a car then know how to drive for sure. You enjoy travel, or in any case, the idea of other cultures and learning about them but if you book plane tickets then make sure you arrive on time and do it right! If you have a gut feeling a flight/airplane isn't right or you shouldn't take it, THEN DON'T. For some people there can be a love for knowledge here but don't overtake a huge amount of time on studying things, stay healthy and take breaks. If you want to go to college then be wise by what university you choose or how you choose to spend your money on it, whether you use a student loan or parents money. If you enjoy religion or have a certain base of beliefs you follow, don't spark arguements with people or nudge your opinions on others, this could be a form of self inflicted negative experiences because this can lead to arguments if others don't agree with you. No matter where you travel to, do it safely and plan ahead. Also you may take joy in visiting new countries. Be wary of what you do or where you go when you're there, don't mess up or be disrespectful in other cultures- you will create unwanted attention

10th House // Capricorn

Possiblity of obtaining an Icarus induced career. This can range from humanitarian causes, military, creative self expression etc. You will be hardworking and diligent in career. Your father could give off some sort of Icarus trait(s) positive or negative. You may have a tendency thoughout work life to also value free time, if you don't like your job then you may want this spare time more often than usual, please remember to get work done when it needs it. Listen to authority figures! They may carry wise words that you ignore, this can lead to being fired or a de-promotion, or in law cases such as cops and court, jail. Lmao on some cases if you are a zookeeper you could work with birds 😂 If you become famous then you can be seen as adventurous and free spirited, wanting more than what the material plane has to offer. You will be fun and people will be entertained by whatever you do. If you are a worker that does things with half effort (EX - A delivery person throws the customwrs box on their doorstep carelessly and leaves rather than putting it down carefully and neatly like a decent human being- COUGH- anyways)

11th house // Aquarius

Icarus in this house results in somewhat of a rebellious nature. You will go out of your way to defend someone when you think something is truly not right, be careful with the situations you get into during this! If you are apart of the LGBTQ+ community then you take pleasure and pride from expressing your individuality/sexuality and orientations, unfortunately not everyone in the world accepts this, please be careful around those kinds of people. This placement can subconsciously enjoy shaking and stirring things up, as the 11th is ruled by Aquarius/Uranus, please stay under control sometimes and not go out with a "BANG" everytime! ^ If you enjoy hanging out with your friends please remember times of silliness vs times of matureness in different situations. This house also refers to karma. Be thoughtful and make sure you don't create more karma or fall back on past karmic tendencies. Escapism is seen here for some people as well, if you enjoy the thought of drugs or do them often or drink too much alchohol, you are hurting yourself. Physically and mentally this placement is saying stop. These things can make you more susceptible to negative actions more often than others that lead to bad situations. Every once in awhile is not bad, but the act of overindulgence of those substances can be quite bad. ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ In Greek Mythology, Hera is the goddess of marriage, women, childbirth, family. She’s the wife of Zeus, and you may have heard a lot of stories where she gets jealous and deals with Zeus’s lovers. Hera in the natal chart shows where you are powerful at, since she herself is the most powerful goddess in Greek mythology. It is where your confidence lie, a truly, gatekeep girlboss placement. Asteroid Hera can also indicate where you often feel jealous and possessive over.

Hera in 1st: Your power lies in your existence. How you present yourself, how the world views you, your attitude and style. You like when people compliment you on how you look. You treat yourself with respect and power that’s why people admire you so much. Although sometimes you might be jealous with other people’s appearance or style, too attracted to flashy things. in persona charts, conjunctions to the sun, i noticed, have a very familiar interpretation as if this planet conjuncted the persona chart's planet/point.

e.g: in venus persona chart sun conjunct mars – it's quite familiar to having venus conjunct mars because sun in this persona chart represents how venus' energy manifests itself. i've seen so many gorgeous people with this position and also vice versa where in mars persona chart there's venus conjuncting sun. this is definitely an indicator.

i once read on quora that aspects should be approached as if each planet has an aura and the bigger the gap between them, the weaker it becomes and it really changed how i look at them now. then later i also found out that some astrologers use an orb to 10° with aspects?? i was shocked at first but then i tried it and how more fulfilled my life became after i started using a 10°orb, especially with conjunctions to the personal planets...y'all have no idea. the energy does become weaker but it's still an aspect and it affects you.

mercury conjunct neptune are definitely the types to exaggerate when they tell stories. my mom has it and the amount of times i had to stop her because she was reaching- 😭.
