Non-binary androgyny has got to be one of the most hated things in this world
Genuinely try to recall the last time non-binary people were told its okay to desire androgyny, it's okay to wish to be somewhere in the middle, you can be poc and androgynous, you can be androgynous and respected in the world. When did you last see an androgynous - not masculine or feminine, androgynous - enban in media? No one in the trans community talks about duosex/salmactive bottom surgery or a dual hormone profile. No one talks about how to voice train to androgyny, how to pass as androgynous. Nooo... all you hear is a mouthful of how "nOnBiNaRy pEoPlE dOnT hAvE tO bE aNdRoGyNoUs!!!"

It's actually devastating how the terms transfem and transmasc have been co-opted.
When they were first coined (as I remember it, at least) they were made to be expansive.
They meant "literally anyone who's gender is more feminine than masculine" and "literally anyone who's gender is more masculine than feminine" respectively.
The other common usages I saw were "literally anyone who's transitioning towards femininity/ masculinity".
They were very broad classifications. Purposefully so.
These terms allowed nonbinary people to have language that expressed masculinity or femininity without disavowing/erasing other (gendered) aspects of themselves.
And there was no expectation that everyone had to use them. They were just two options. There for anyone who wanted them.
Now these terms are (most often) used as synonyms for trans women/men. Now there's discreet "transfem" and "transmasc" experiences. No room for overlap or complexity.
It's become just another way to ask "yeah but are you a man or a woman"?

I love unaligned love. I love love and affection between nonbinary people that cannot be put into a box like wlw / mlm or even nblw / nblm. I love nonbinary love that isn't tied to dichotomies or adjacent to binary identities. I love when nonbinary people love each other in a way that just is and isn't defined by anything but their affection for each other and their lack of binary association.
Nonbinary people don't owe you androgyny, that much is true. But please don't let anyone convince you that androgyny is an illegitimate or impossible transition goal.

I'm really tired of binary trans people with conforming pronouns getting angry about being asked their pronouns in trans social groups.
This is not for you.
This is not to make you specifically feel a certain way.
This is for people whose pronouns (or gender) can't get deciphered from their presentation. This is for nonbinary people who look identical to you, or somehow else, but still can't nonverbally send a message about their identity, because there are no developed normative ways of presentation for types of nonbinary.
If you can put together a coherent outfit and set of mannerisms that unambiguously tells everyone familiar with norms of feminine and masculine how you want to be called, good for you, but many other people can't. It's not their fault that they can't. You didn't try better than them, you didn't suffer more than them, you didn't do anything to get validation on their expense in a place that's supposed to treat us all equally.
I'd rather you experience a momentary inconvenience of being asked and then we all are addressed the way we want, than you have all the satisfaction of being correctly sorted into he or she at a glance while your fellow trans people are being blatantly misgendered.

you can't imagine how much you matter to our community. you are on the front lines, demanding our rightful place in society, making sure we are not forgotten. carving out a space for the nonbinary people who can't put up that fight. even if you are never recognized or appreciated, it matters.
Forever mad that people continue to shit on "stargender" as an example of an outlandish nonbinary identity. Women and men have claimed the sun and moon a million times over in different configurations. Why shouldn't we be beautiful, infinitely varied stars?? Which are also sometimes suns and moons and planets! What about our heavenly bodies makes you cringe?

You know when people say trans women are women and trans men are men you can follow the pattern and say nonbinary people are nonbinary and affirm the existence of nonbinary identities as equal to those of man and woman rather than softening it to generic valid when even within the trans community a very popular line goes what harm is it to identify as nonbinary or xenogender I know it's cringe but we were all teenagers once they'll grow out of it and get a normal binary gender one day. Like no.
Nonbinary people are nonbinary.
