"boundaries" replaced "rules" as a word for a lot of people and honestly it sucks. going through your phone every month isn't your parents setting a boundary, it's them making a rule. deciding your partner can't watch porn isn't setting a boundary, it's making a rule. telling other people what they can read or write isn't setting a boundary, it's making a rule. a boundary is about other's behavior toward you, not their behavior unrelated to you.

Urgently Need Comms or Donations
I’m still working on previous comms, but life keeps happening and I’m short rent money.
My mom’s work paid her 800 dollars too much last pay check, but since it was a mistake they needed her to pay it back. But you see. They also needed what was taxed back so she didn’t get paid for several days of work worth 1500 dollars to make up for the payroll mistake. My mom promised to pay rent at least before the end of the week. We don’t have any food in the house besides ramen and we have other bills coming up. Anything would help 🙏
I still need to update my sheet, esp the last page so feel free to double check information in regards to what I can and can’t do.
and here’s my Ko-Fi https://ko-fi.com/raybuggybug
i love that discord doesn't tell you if someone's read your messages. like genuinely. normalize others not needing every second of your time right away. normalize taking time to formulate a proper answer. normalize this.

I think the thing that annoys me most about AI on a personal, day to day, level is what it has done to grammar checkers. If you've never done a lot of editing, or used to 5+ years ago but haven't really in the last couple years, I can't even begin to describe how fucking BAD this shit has gotten. And as an author it is EXHAUSTING.
I just want to catch spelling errors and accidental double spaces and repeated phrases and whenever I use the wrong too/to or affect/effect and shit. But no. They've shoved AI up the ass of every grammar checking software out there and now they all fucking suck and make the most random, obnoxious, nonsensical suggestions.
And yeah, I can ignore all the times it's trying to get me to cut out any semblance of my own voice, or shove things into the wrong tense, or make the most random suggestions on comma usage. But if it's getting all that WRONG, what is it just straight up missing that I SHOULD be correcting? What real spelling and grammar errors are still lurking in there?
"Use Libre Office."
I get why people keep saying this (and other versions of it like "Use Adobe alternatives" and "Use Google product alternatives."). But here's the problem: I do not create in isolation. Even my own 100% personal projects are getting sent to other people whether it's editors or printers or beta readers and unless every single person in that train is using the same products, things can get wonky.
Libre Office and Word handle formatting differently on the back end, which can completely break documents if you move them back and forth between the two. So if I write in Libre Office but my beta readers are still using Word, when I send them a manuscript for review there's a good chance things won't look right and my beta reader will not actually be reviewing what I sent them.
Industry standards are industry standards FOR A REASON. Having everyone on the same workflow can be crucial to getting things done effectively and correctly without creating a lot of extra work. And those things are not going to change overnight, as much as we might want them to.
:| :| :|
Yeah, Word, let me just leave this whole chunk of dialogue without the closing quotation marks. That's the thing to do. How dare I have two punctuation marks in a row. It's not like that's how closing quotation marks fucking work.
I am going to light something on fire.
And you know, for young writers, this has got to be so detrimental just from the perspective of opening your document and seeing a million corrections that, frankly, don't need to be there. If you're a young writer you're likely not going to have the background knowledge to know what is and isn't a good suggestion, you're just going to see a document that makes it look like you made every mistake possible so clearly you must be a terrible, stupid writer and should just give up.
With the whole "Markiplier making his own DVD copies of Iron Lung to sell" thing, it's been fascinating and slightly concerning how many people seem to genuinely believe that if a physical release isn't coming from a giant corporation, it must automatically be a bootleg.
Look at me.
Look me directly in the eyes while I say this.
You can just make things.
You can simply create something and put it into the world.
That's allowed.
People have been doing it for centuries.
They sell blank VHS tapes. They sell blank DVDs. Blank CDs. You can buy flash drives by the bucketful if you really want to. If you create a movie, an album, a game, a documentary, or a four-hour video essay about the mating habits of fictional space goblins, you are entirely permitted to put that thing on physical media and sell it.
That is not piracy.
Piracy is taking something that belongs to someone else and reproducing or distributing it without permission.
If I buy a DVD of a movie, I own that copy of the movie. I do not own the movie itself. I didn't acquire the rights to duplicate it, press a thousand copies, and start selling them out of my garage like I've become the regional distributor for Warner Bros.
The copyright, distribution rights, and intellectual property still belong to whoever created it or whoever legally acquired those rights.
If I start burning copies of Iron Lung and selling them myself without Markiplier's permission, that's piracy.
If Markiplier, who made and owns the rights to Iron Lung, burns copies and sells them himself, that's just distribution.
He's the rights holder.
He's distributing his own work.
If you made it, if it came from your own mind, your own work, your own time, your own resources, then congratulations. You own the thing. You don't need a corporation to bless it with legitimacy.
The corporation is not what makes it real.
The fact that it exists is what makes it real.
I think we've accidentally spent so many years living inside a world dominated by mass-produced media that some people have developed the strange assumption that all media emerges from a factory somewhere. As if films naturally occur in shrink-wrapped plastic cases and descend from the heavens aboard a pallet truck.
But independent artists have been burning discs, dubbing tapes, printing books, pressing records, and mailing things directly to people for longer than many of us have been alive.
That's not a bootleg.
That's just a product.
It's not "bootleg."
It's just... leg.
The normal kind.
The original, free-range, locally sourced leg.
I wanted to use what ‘reach’ I may have here to share the Carolina Wildlife Center’s urgent plea for donations. If they are unable to raise $75,000 to cover ongoing and future care of their wildlife patients, the center will have to close July 20th, 2026. The services provided by CWC to the community are incredibly valuable, and without them, many wild animals will suffer without the care they need.

@darya-bell get attacked! Nook was a delight to draw <3
Hello beautiful people!
Today I come before you with a special request...
This Sunday is Children's Day, and we're planning a small celebration for the children we teach. We've already organized a get-together with the parents so they can bring snacks and sweets, but I'd personally like to bring a small gift for each child.
Our intention is for the children to feel celebrated that day (especially after recent events) and to be able to enjoy the party, games, food, and music as usual.
My plan is to buy simple toys as an individual gift for each child, plus some treats. I don't have the wholesale prices yet, but I know I'll need more than 60$.
I would usually offer discounted commissions to help raise the money, but I can't do that right now. I already have a backlog of commissions to work on, and if I'm honest, I'm too exhausted to take on long-term projects and I don't feel comfortable taking on more work until I finish what's pending.
If you're interested in helping me, here's what I can offer right now:
- My adoptables, which you can check out here
- Surprise custom chibis on this base (different species)
- Simple watermark design (this is a service I had planned to offer later, but I can offer it now, although I don't have any examples at the moment)
I can't think of anything else at the moment, but if you have an idea, please feel free to share it. I would greatly appreciate it.
I also thank you in advance for your collaboration, and if you could share this, I would be very grateful.
