It had been a beautiful day. A GLORIOUS day.

And it was all the more special. Why?

Well she was going to throw her beautiful husbandwife a surprise birthday party! They've been together for almost two years now and she had realized that not once had she seen the dragon celebrate their birthday. It was rather odd. So she asked Hydrangea Cookie about it. The woman had shrugged her saying that the Great Blue Dragon was so magnificent that they were worshipped every day with daily tributes that they didn't NEED to bother with a silly birthday party. Their was celebrations dedicated to them many times a year anyways. Why bother? Well how old WAS Lotus? She didn't know that either. They've been around since ancient times, why bother thinking about that? Fair enough...but everyone deserved a birthday party. Even Lotus. So she decided to throw them their very first birthday party! A surprise birthday party to be exact! It was easier than she thought to sneak around Lotus. Usually the dragon noticed even the tiniest suspicious activity on their paradise but they were too busy distracted by running their own island to notice her sneaking in decorations and balloons and streamers and party favors and she was sure to go to the Palace's kitchens when they weren't around to order the chef to make the specific elaborate elegant cake she wanted! A beautiful naked five tier cake decorated with sweet fruits and beautiful flowers! She had it planned perfectly! It was Lotus's turn to make the trip to the Ivory Palace to check on Longan and bring them food. She acted normal. Wishing them good luck on the trip as they loaded up the crates of food and smiling. As soon as they were on their way she hadn't a moment to loose! Practically dragging Hydrangea by the arm and ordering her to decorate the dining room. The cookie shook her head at the ridiculous idea but did as her master's mistress told her to do. Next was the cake. Lotus wouldn't be back for at least a few hours. With the chef working on the cake and Hydrangea Cookie in charge of decorating all that left was the presents and guests. You couldn't have a birthday party without presents! That was like celebrating Valentine's Day without chocolate. So with everything else in good hands she set out to do the remaining two tasks herself. Hydrangea Cookie got an invite! And Snake Fruit and their mate! And of course their little baby girl was invited and-...That was it. She couldn't think of anyone else that Lotus was close enough to to invite except maybe the other dragons...But the only one who'd say yes even if she did ask was Pitaya. And who knows where that dragon went nowadays. Oh well. Four guests were still better than none!

Now for the presents!

Only one problem with that though. What do you get the dragon who has literally every? She was unfortunately serious as well. Lotus had an enormous library, a treasure hoard filled with everything from deep sea pearls to a few of Lychee's giant crystals, statues, an enormous collection of instruments and paintings, a HUGE garden full of flowers complete with a fountain, a wardrobe of the finest silks and fabrics- And that didn't count the daily tributes THOUSANDS of cookies constantly left on the doorstep of the palace. So what DOES she get them that they haven't already been given?

A box of random of course!

If Lotus had gotten everything of high class, then she should surprise them with knickknacks that they would've never gotten before (and hopefully no one had given them as tributes either)! So off she went through the many many MANY streets of the Lotus Kingdom and it's many many more businesses looking for the most obscure things. And she was NOT disappointed. A soap shop that sold soap bars in shaped like different things. She got a rose scented one carved like a rose. Some nice scented candles. A wood carving of a cute bananasoarus. A jar of tiny seashells. Some cute hair pins. An entire self care set. A cute purse! She NEVER once saw Lotus with a purse! A child was selling cute little bracelets with plastic beads so she bought one too! All going in a big whicker basket she carried with her. Was this enough? ...No. No. This was Lotus's FIRST EVER birthday party! They needed to have LOTS of presents for such a special occasion! Off she continued hunting. A cute teddy bear. A midnight jasmine perfume. Some makeup..at least she was sure she never saw Lotus using this brand before. Would Lotus even like these?...Well they say it was the thought that counts. And she was planning something extra special for this that couldn't be given wrapped up she was sure they would love. Now she had better get home so she has time to wrap these up before Lotus came back. She would've done that if something hadn't caught her attention. It caught her eye immediately. Sitting in the window of a shop was a little itty bitty music box. It was shaped like a cute little round white cake with absolutely adorable pink decorations. And right on top was the most UTTERLY ADORABLE BEAUTIFUL little ballerina she's ever seen. Her face lit up immediately! She KNOWS Lotus doesn't have anything like that! The dragon LOVED music and dancing! So a music box with a ballerina was just perfect! The shop owner dropped the gear box he was working on when the island's beauty came walking in. "I'd like to buy that music box in the window please!"

She smiled happily as she walked back to the palace with the little music box in her hands. Ignoring the dozens of other cookies surrounding her as she walked. The little key on the side was turned a few times and almost instantly a cute piano melody came out as the ballerina spun around in a circle. Oh wasn't this just the most cutest thing ever!? Lotus was going to love this! She was so happy!

That was until she help a much stronger hand grab her shoulder and yank her back so hard she nearly dropped the pretty thing. "I beg your pardon!" She snapped around with a frown. "Don't you know it's rude to just grab a lady-" She froze. Whatever she was going to say died on her tongue as soon as not one but TWO faces hit her. A man. A woman. Both looked equally as shocked to see her as she was them. None of them said a single word.. until she yanked her arm back and stepped back from them. "Spoiled Milk Cookie!? Silver Spoon Cookie!?" She couldn't believe what she was seeing! "W-What are you two doing here!?" The two still in shock stared back at her until the woman frowned. "US!? We're here on our second honeymoon after renewing our vows! What are YOU doing here?!" Spoiled Milk accused. In turn she scowled back. "I live here!" She said it like it was obvious..because it was! "You both are to leave Lotus Paradise immediately!" "You can't tell us what to do!" "I can since my spouse is the Blue Dragon." She snorted. "Oh please. A dragon kidnap you? Maybe for food but nothing else." "My spouse didn't kidnap me! They saved my life when I washed up upon their shores! Not that it's any of your business!" "I don't believe you! Even an ugly dragon wouldn't stand a woman who couldn't even keep a husband." She still scowled before calmly putting the music box in her basket. "Says the woman who couldn't get her own man so she had to be a homewrecker and seduce an already engaged man?" She had the audacity to look offended. "It's not like that! We were in love!" "Then why didn't he do the right thing and break up with me before he got in a relationship with you? If I remember right, I walked in to find my groom swapping saliva with my maid of honor because I forgot my veil. Your father was very vocal about how angry he was with you wasn't he?" "YOU'RE JUST JEALOUS!! YOU ALWAYS WERE!! TELL HER, SILVER SPOON COOKIE!!" ...She snapped at him and yanked his arm when he didn't budge. "Silver Spoon Cookie!? Why aren't you saying anything?!"

Actually that was a good question.

She looked at him too and found a familiar face she often got. Pure awestruck. Like he just saw the most beautiful thing in his life. HA. Ironic. A little bit too late too. "You both have a lot of nerve. You were the ones who grabbed ME not the other way around. You chose to bother me when we could've been blissfully unaware of each other's existence." "....You're beautiful." Spoiled Milk whipped to him so face. "WHAT!?" "I know." Was her blunt answer. "I always was. You gave me enough bodily issues that I thought I wasn't for the past ten years. Unfortunately I have no use for emotionally abusive cheaters who make off with my entire fortune." How many times had she sacrificed something to make him happy? Wearing the clothes he liked. Cutting off the people he said she couldn't be around. Doing everything he asked. All for what? To go around and sleep with her supposedly best friend? The job she pulled strings to get him, all those gifts, doing her best to make him happy, even dealing with his monster of a mother for the sake of getting along with his family- Her supposed future in laws. And how did he repay her? Making her homeless. A laughing stock in front of everyone. Breaking her heart in the worst way possible. And now he has the audacity to show up here and grab her arm like that. "Get off this island. I'll be generous and give you until sunset, but you're certainly not staying! In fact, you're both banned for life." "You can't do that." She stared at him longer. "You don't tell me what to do. My spouse will be back in a few hours, and I'll be telling them of this encounter. They'll be sure you're off the island in the timeframe." She pushed his hand away which maybe wasn't a good idea because it triggered Spoiled Milk. "KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MY MAN!!" She moved faster than she thought possibly and multiple cookies looked up to watch as the Blue Dragon's wife got shoved hard enough to go crashing to the cobblestone with her head bouncing off the stone. The contents of the basket scattering along the ground as on instinct her hands flew to clutch at the pain that immediately exploded inside her skull. She barely registered the scream that followed after until she slowly sat up with stars dancing behind her eyelids. Not until a shadow fell over her and two hands touching her face made her flinch and look up ready to punch at whoever it was-...Until she blinked when a blue-green face smiled at her. "..Lotus?" "I leave for one day and someone is foolish enough to touch what's mine? Tch, Tch, Tch. Rather foolish indeed." Black claws grab her face with a smile. The crowd taken large steps back around them. "Are you alright? You hit your head against the ground." "I think so. It hurts." They just stare at her. "....We're going to see the nearest doctor this instant." They attempted to pull her up until she jerked away. "WAIT!! I need to get my shopping." She began furiously trying to pick up and shove everything back into the basket quickly. She hoped nothing was broken. "It's important." "My gifts for the surprise party I assume?" She froze shoving the teddy gummy bear into her basket before slowly looking up at them. "..How did you-?" "Darling, I've told you before. Nothing happens on this paradise without me knowing. Although it's so sweet of you to think of me." She slowly stood up with the full basket feeling disappointed. "I was trying to surprise you." "I was surprised when I first found out. I never had someone try to throw me a birthday party before so I'm flattered. I'm so lucky to have someone who cares about me so much..Speaking of which-" They very creepily turn to the two scared looking cookies surrounded by guards in armor pointing spears at them. "Who would be so bold to hurt the one who loves me so much? You don't look like monster hunters." "Lotus..That's the two I told you about. You know. My ex fiance and his wife."

Immediately the temperature between them dropped as their eyes narrowed slightly. "..Oh? The cheater and the affair partner. A small world we live in. Now what do I owe the pleasure of them coming to visit us?" "They're here for their second honeymoon. I told them they couldn't stay but they wouldn't listen to me." "Hm...Well I'd so hate to interrupt a happy couple's stay. ..Why don't you gentlemen escort this lovely couple to the palace dungeon?" Their faces paled instantly. "I'll see to them as soon as I take my petal to see a doctor." "Must we?" "I'd rather be safe than sorry, Bloom." "YOU CAN'T DO THIS!! TELL THEM, SILVER SPOON COOKIE!! TELL THEM IT'S HER FAULT!!" "Will you shut up!?" They had no choice when the sharp tips of those spears threatened to pierce dough if they didn't march as Lotus simply dusted her off and looked her up and down. "Oh look at you. Your new dress is torn and your hair is all messed-..." They paused as they pulled their hand back. Some red jam was smeared on their head from where they fixed her hair. "..Lot-" "Doctor. Now. No is not an option." She was dragged to the nearest Doctor who ended up giving her some medical tea for the pain and a bandage around her head. "She'll be alright. It's just a goose egg and a bad scrape on her scalp. I recommend putting some ice on it to get the swelling to go down and drinking this tea to help the pain. Otherwise she's perfectly fine! Be sure to keep the scratch clean though and put some medicine on it."

"It's ruined!" Lotus hummed looking at her as she just stood there miserably. "Your first birthday party and I ruined everything. I didn't even get to wrap your presents." "Honey." An arm threw itself over her. "It's not ruined. We can still have the party, and you did nothing wrong. It's those two's faults for even laying their hands on you." "...I know, but I still feel bad it had to be like this. I just wanted everything to be perfect for you." She pulled out the music box that by some miracle hadn't broken when she fell and held it out to them. "Here. You probably know what I got you anyways, but I want to give it you regardless. Happy birthday, Sweetheart." Slowly the dragon let her go before taking the small music box..The key was turned three times and pretty little music started to play as the pretty little ballerina on top started spinning. "I got you more things if you don't like it. I wanted to surprise you with little things from our island that you didn't get before. So...Here." The basket was held out to them. "Happy birthday." Lotus stared at the music box. Stared at the basket and everything inside it. Stared at her. And smiled. "I love it. You're so thoughtful. Let's go and see about that cake shall we?" "You know about that too?" "Well it was easy to notice the chef wheeling a giant cake into the dining room, Dear." Well it wasn't a total loss. ...Even if they discovered another small disaster. "I'm sorry." Hydrangea Cookie apologized holding a cake covered Pond Dino as the toddler waved her flippers at her. "Mama! Daddy!" The cake had a large chunk missing from the bottom and second tier in the back. "There was an emergency with the dungeon and when I got back she had already started eating it." ...She slowly facepalmed as Lotus took one look at the cake covered two year old before chuckling. "Oh my. If she couldn't resist, then it must be quite delicious. I think I'll just take a piece from the top." The chef didn't even remember the CANDLES!! THE CANDLES!! It wasn't a birthday cake without candles!..But Lotus didn't seem to mind one bit. Sigh. At least the decorations were perfect. But she knew that wouldn't compare to the final surprise she had planned that even Lotus wouldn't suspect. She just waited until they were alone. No one but the two of them. Sucking in a breath. "Lotus." The dragon turned to her instantly. "I have one more gift for you." "Another? My Dear, you're spoiling me today." "I-I'm..I'm ready to have a baby with you." The mandalin in their hands drops to their lap instantly as their eyes go wide. ".....A baby?" She nods. "You've been wanting one for a long time right? I-I think I'm ready now. It doesn't matter if we bake them or-...You know. I wanted to surprise you at least once today." They say nothing. Do nothing but stare at her wide eyed. She wasn't expecting them to move so quickly. One second sitting on the floor, the next tightly hugging her. "Yes! Yes a baby! I promise after you're all better we'll have as many hatchlings as you're willing to give me. I love you so much! You couldn't have given me a better gift even if the witches gave it to you!" "I'm..so happy you like it. I can't wait to start a family with you." It truly was perfect.

There was only two more loose ends to tie up real quick.

Five days later Hydrangea Cookie approached the dragon with a concern. "Great Blue Dragon, there's a farmer here to see you." They didn't look up from the blue prints for the nursery in their hands. "Oh?" "Yes. It's the strangest thing. Some clumps of dough apparently floated down the river and are clogging his watermill." ...A bigger smile stretched across their face. "How strange. Would you mind seeing to it's clean up? I couldn't be bothered at the moment." As always she never questioned her master. "Of course. It'll be done before afternoon." "Excellent!"

ANANAS:

-It shouldn't have ended like this. Really it shouldn't have. Feeling like she lost everything to a dragon once again and now she broke a promise. She's NEVER went back on her word. But then again how was she supposed to react to everything? This was all her fault wasn't it? She shouldn't have ever drank that stupid hollyberry juice! Pitaya had just given Ananas enough of it to last a whole month. Some form of olive branch between them as far as she knew. The solar eclipse festival was just about to start too. The biggest celebration on all of Pineapple island and one Ananas graced the villagers with one of their rare appearances with for the entire festival. She couldn't help but feel like something bad was going to happen when two of the Mango Tribe men cracked open a barrel the Red Dragon left behind and presented it to the Golden Dragon as an offering. They both stared at the magenta-purplish liquid sloshing around inside. "Are you sure this is safe? You've never had hollyberry juice before." Ananas just scooped some out with a ladle a cookie handed them humming and giving it a few sniffs. "If it doesn't hurt Pitaya then it shouldn't harm me. Pitaya may be a dimwit but they'd never do anything to intentionally harm me...*sniff sniff* Doesn't smell too bad. You ever have this?" She shook her head. "I've had juice before but never hollyberry juice. I don't drink much in general." She watched as the dragon proceeded to drink the spoonful smacking their lips a second..before perking up with a hum. "This is..delicious! I am pleased with this offering! As a reward, I will permit this delicious drink be shared with the entire tribe!" Lots of Mango cookies cheer before she harshly tugs on their wing. "Ananas, children can't have juice. It's really bad for them and can kill them in extreme cases." Well that just makes the dragon backtrack a big step. "Everyone EXCEPT THE CHILDREN!! Those are my orders!!" "There should also be someone to watch them all." "I'll assign the chieftess and the older cookies to watch over the children. That should keep all the most vulnerable ones away and all in one place." Well she was glad Ananas actually listened to her pleas. She couldn't say the same thing about the other dragon she came across. The celebrations had continued onwards. Aside from the children and a lot of the much older cookies, the cookies danced and shouted for joy as the eclipse passed them by. She had to admit, it was very beautiful. Lots of food and that juice getting passed around, and in the middle of it all was Ananas sitting on a throne built for them practically sunbathing the entire time as Mango Tribe Cookies approached placing offerings at their feet (mostly fruit) and Ananas seemed to be REALLY enjoying that juice Pitaya gifted them. Drinking from a coconut filled with it over and over again. "Is that wise? Drinking too much can have consequences." They waved her off. "Dragons have a much higher tolerance for things than ordinary cookies. If Pitaya can guzzle this down without so much as getting intoxicated then so can I." "But wouldn't that be because the Red Dragon built up a resistance to it over time? You've never had this before." And they were drinking it like crazy! Again they waved her off. "Even if I do get 'drunk', I have perfect self control! You don't have anything to worry about." "...Alright. But try to slow down on the drinking. Too much is bad for you." She was already starting to see some of the Mango Tribe stumbling around and one rush to go vomit behind someone's hut. Guess for a tribe that never had hollyberry juice either, it was hitting them pretty hard. She herself had only had two in the course of the day and was nursing a third that was given to her. She was just taking them to be polite but her head was already feeling light and fuzzy...She had barely drank herself to be honest and even when she did it was never more than one mug.

-That bad feeling in her stomach still never left as everyone still passed around food and drinks. Eventually someone started up music and slowly one by one people started dancing. Some also handed her a forth drink that she only accepted out of politeness only sipping on it as she watched the festivities go by. Her head got fuzzier and she made a decision that this was going to be her last one. She'll just pretend to keep drinking this empty coconut so no one tries giving her a fifth. Someone tried approaching Ananas. Mango Royale Cookie if she remembered right. She was the most beautiful young woman in the village and she shook with a really cute red blushing face as she walked up to Ananas and stuttered something. Probably asking if they wanted to dance. The dragon looked at her with a smile before shaking their head no. Poor girl. She felt so sorry for her as she quickly shuffled off after getting rejected. She was honestly super nice, didn't see why Ananas wouldn't accept. Oh well. Perhaps it's for the best if the dragon was going to drink themselves drunk. She stayed still standing there keeping an eye on everything, and Ananas...Maybe it was because her head was getting more and more fuzzy but she swears Ananas was staring at her. It took her almost another hour to realize the two WERE staring at each other. That the dragon was standing right THERE. They said something swaying lightly ..but it was muffled. ..Maybe it was the eclipse or the drinks but- "Why do you have to look so beautiful?" Whatever the dragon was doing stopped as they froze. "All that power and all the gold your kind hoard when there's poor cookies who could use it. It's unfair really. You shouldn't hoard it all to yourself...." A hand reached out to touch their face. "Why do dragons have to be so selfish? Power, riches, land, followers, and beauty too...You all are so unfair."...A hand grabbed hers instantly. "It doesn't just have to be mine. It can still be yours too." "I don't want a grand title. I'm not a princess." "An equal is what I want. Not a princess." "....You know what? That sounds nice. You're starting to convince me of this benevolent dragon you're always boasting about." "....Can I try to show you further?" "......I don't see why not." She..couldn't remember anything after that. Maybe a few steps? A flap of wings? Something holding her hand maybe?? What she does remember was the feeling of warmth. Something soft yet strange feeling almost like leather encaging her entire body. A throbbing headache as she groaned and sat her head up groggily. Slowly her eyes blinked open and her vision swam, going around in circles as she blinked until slowly they formed a smiling face happily looking at her. "Good morning, Beautiful.~" ......She slowly blinked staring blankly at the face. A glass breaking sound went off in her head as she stared at Ananas with their blonde hair splayed all over the place. That warmth all over her was her body wrapped up in their wings. She looked dow- Snapped back up as they chuckled. "...Oh no." "Oh yes." "Please tell me we're not in the middle of the village." "We're in my nest." A wave of half relief escaped her. Oh thank witches. She attempted to get up but couldn't when the dragon pulled her against them more. "Ananas! I have a duty to patrol the island! I also wish to get out of this awkward position!" "Mine." "Yes. I know but- UH!" She tried to yank herself out. "Mine." "UH!" "Mine." "Uh!" "Mine." "UGH!" "MINE!" "WITCHES DAMMIT!!"

-It took her three hours talking to Ananas about firm boundaries again. And that spending a night together that she didn't even REMEMBER did not count as them being mated. The dragon's response was to give a dog like whine and cling to her more but eventually they got the hint. Then the days started going by..and nearly two weeks later she felt herself getting sick mostly in the mornings. Odd. She ate the same thing as everyone else, and she didn't think she got sick. Yet every morning without fail she'd have to run out of the hut and vomit on the sand. Then the cramps started. She had to stop her intense exercise routine because it all resulted in terrible painful cramps in her stomach and sides. Still throwing up by the way. She must've had bad stomach flu, been having allergies, food poisoning- SOMETHING THAT WOULD EXPLAIN THIS!? She couldn't take it anymore after three weeks so she went to go visit the village healer. The elderly woman calmly listened to her explain in detail about her symptoms, let her examine her body, and then she delivered the lines that caused her entire world to shift. "Congratulations, Lady Y/n. You're pregnant." She just stared at her. "....Pregnant?" She nodded. "And you're sure?" She nodded again. "...........I see." "Oh, this is so grand! It's always so sweet to see a new life start. Who's the lucky man?" "..Actually the father doesn't know yet. I would appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone until I tell them-..The father." She then quickly got up. "If you'll please excuse me, I must finish my daily patrol before running an errand." She calmly finished her patrol, made her way up the volcano, entered Ananas's cave, and found the golden dragon sitting on top of their throne. They lit up watching her calmly walking in, hand on the hilt of her sword. "Ah. If it isn't the beauty of Pineapple Island.~ Have you come to have me grace your-" CLANK!! They froze as a breeze brushed over their face. Right next to their head a dragon killing sword was lodged into their throne. Silence fell as she stared at their startled form. "Ananas Dragon Cookie." Her voice was stern and blunt. "I am with child because of you and I demand you take responsibility for it!" Ananas just stared at her for a long moment before slowly blinking. "You're WHAT!?" And that's what lead to now. The dragon had been very adamant on taking care of her and she insisted on they do the right thing and get married. Ananas was stunned at first but had agreed without hesitation to her demands. Although now she was starting to have second thoughts- "ANANAS!! WHERE'S MY SWORD!?" "I put it away." "What do you mean you put it away!? I need it!" "No you don't! It's dangerous. It's for the greater good." "GREATER GOOD!? I AM YOUR WIFE!! I'M THE GREATEST GOOD YOU'RE EVER GOING TO GET!! NOW YOU TELL ME WHERE MY SWORD IS OR SO HELP ME I'LL PULL YOUR SCALES OUT UNTIL I GET IT!!"

Ananas Dragon Cookie:

• At first, they panic. If your cramps are super bad, they’ll think you’re just. Dying. So once you inform them that you’re just on your period, they feel slightly relieved. Even then, they worry, considering they’ve seen many mortals suffer greatly and sometimes even need medical attention for something that’s supposed to be normal. So they’re basically by your side the whole time.

• Ask for anything and they’re bringing it to you. They’ll bring heat pads, period products, medicine, doing what they can to make such a miserable time at least slightly better. Ananas cares for their mate and it doesn’t matter how bad your period is or not.

• If you have cravings, they’re bringing you that specific item in the highest quality. Chocolate? All the finest chocolates the tribe offers. Fruit? You’re on pineapple island, take whatever you want!

• They’re fairly well educated in soothing cramps after observing the tribes around the islands for years. They know many, many ways of soothing them. Some of which might be more intimate in nature, if you ask nicely.

Pitaya Dragon Cookie:

• They’re confused at first. Dragons don’t experience the same kind of cycles as mortals - so when you’re curled up in pain with no visible injury, they’re staring at you and trying to figure out what the hell is going on.

• When you elaborate, they’re slightly less confused.

“Why would a mortal’s body do that? Seems counterproductive.”

• Wish we knew too, Pitaya. But they’re much more understanding as you explain more and more.

• They’re a lot gentler with you than they normally would be. Hormones cause emotions to go out of wack, they knew that from being around mortals for so long. They don’t want to hurt their mate’s feelings, and as much as they want to spar, they’ll only do so if you ask. (Only when on your period. They’ll ask any other time.)

• They’ll cuddle you and hold you, especially because their body is HOT. They’re a fire dragon, so their blood is much warmer than others, so if you want them to, they’ll be your personal heating pad.

• They’re much more patient with you than any other mortals, so any time you have a craving during this time, they’re going out and snagging it from some poor innocent cookie. You deserve it more for dealing with your suffering, obviously!
