In Romanian culture it is a central character of winter plays and masquerades which i remember from my childhood. The costume of the goat usually consists of a wooden head with a movable jaw that chatters, guaranteeing prosperity for those who hear it. The goat dances, dies and is ressurected, representing the vitality of nature and associating life and death.
