I actually do not give an actual fuck about (most of) the perceived inaccuracies and adaptive flourishes of Nolan's Odyssey and I think that some of you need to understand that stories can be good even if they are changed to fit a different thematic structure. I simply do not care about perceived mischaracterizations of one of history's oldest blorbos: Idgaf that it didn't include the Nobody detail when Odysseus' connection to the gods is tenuous and his sponsor god/the personification of his guilt wears the face of an innocent murdered as a result of his violations. His defining character traits are established much differently, and in my opinion, serve the medium far better. I think that some of you need to stop the rehash and enjoy a piece of art that claims inspiration, not accuracy.
also the whinging about these kinds of adaptive details is kind of like christians getting upset about jesus christ superstar.

i grew up catholic and have four years of church classes under my belt
first fandom was miraculous

a byler headcanon i have that's a little insignificant but fun to think about is that will helped mike steal the one way sign off a random street in hawkins to hang in his bedroom. i really like to imagine they were super bored one summer (probably like right before season 3 starts) and will actually suggests it because jonathon likes to collect old signs and will thinks that mike would find it cool. he's not usually the type to encourage illegal activity, but he does it specifically because of his crush on mike. and while mike is less averse to the idea (he'd be all about being a little bit rebellious in small ways at that age, I feel like), the main reason why he agrees to it is because will sounded like he really thought it was so cool how jonathon did it and he wanted to be that cool in will's eyes. and mike totally told himself it was in a totally brotherly way like with jonathon, but knew really deep down that it wasn't and he was agreeing to it for an entirely different reason. idk man i just feel like it would be such a sweet thing for them to do and probably the last thing they would do together that summer before mike would've started spending more time with el and pushing will away. and on top of being cool room decor and queer symbolism when pointed at an open closet it would serve as an explicit reminder of will every time mike looked at it afterwards
