Here’s the thing: it’s basically never the end of the world. Scuffed up your car? Not the end of the world. Upset a friend? Not the end of the world. Failed a test, bombed a presentation, fumbled an interview? Not the end of the world. Humiliated yourself in front of a crush, or a boss, or a crowd? Not the end of the world. It’s so tempting to beat up on yourself for every slight, big and small, but things have a tendency toward working out. Might not be a fun ride. Might not be easy. But 99% of the time, that thing that feels too big and too devastating to handle? It’s just a thing. You’ll fix it. Or it will be of no consequence a year from now. It might suck, but it is not an apocalypse. It’s going to be okay.

what is it about things being gender neutral having to also be ‘masculine’. like, why can you wear a suit and tie and call it gender neutral but not a dress cause that’s feminine. why can you call people dude or guy as a gender neutral term but not girl cause that’s feminine. short hair is neutral but long hair is feminine. i mean i know why this is fully a rhetorical question but let’s think about that
