I grew up in Apartheid South Africa were the rules and government told us that non whites were inferior, not suitable as friends, not suitable as lovers and not suitable for jobs that required intelligence. I was lucky, my family believed differently. Then the government changed and the new thinking pattern was that white people were bad news, evil and should be told to leave. I am fortunate to know that many non whites don’t believe this rhetoric either. I broke the rules. I was a friend to everyone regardless of their race or religion. Souls matter not the outside look of a person. I tell you this not for praise but to remind you that not everything society tells you is right.
