I understand some of the anger ppl have abt ppl reblogging scams, but I don't like how most of them imply that the ppl reblogging are all dumb. Donate to legitimate funds. If the real humanitarian orgs are having trouble pushing aid through, then the individuals in countries that are supported by GoFundMe sure as heck ain't going to be able to do much for their loved ones, either. Legit orgs are the only option, even if they're imperfect. The imperfection is a testament to the atrocity of the situation in Gaza, not to the organizations, themselves. You guys are misguidedly lining the pockets of scammers and, often, human traffickers. Don't let posts with flowery (or Fellow Kids) wording guilt or coerce you into giving money to randos.

It’s okay. You’re not stupid or a bad person or whatever else your self loathing says you are for falling for the Gaza scams. You just got tricked, and it’s really all right. It’s happened to better tumblrinas than you. As a matter of fact, it’s happened to me before.
And for the record, the fact that you got scammed in this way is a GOOD sign. You WANT to help others, you WANT to do something, anything about the genocide taking place, you’re trying your best to do the right thing and someone else took advantage of that.
Hang onto that desire to give kindness and compassion to others. That’s a good sign. You just need a little help finding a good place to do that. It’s okay, no one is perfect.
