I love Hero Forge. But...
I love using Hero Forge. It's one of my favorite things to do when I'm bored, and I always look forward to whatever new thing they have to release. I've made so many characters in that thing, and I love 'em all to bits.
But at the same time, I've noticed I've been doing it a lot more than I've been doing art. I think it's because it's so much easier to make a character there than it is to draw it myself. Drawing takes so much time and effort, but it's still my favorite hobby, and I hope to make it into a living one day.
I think Hero Forge is a good tool for giving me an idea as to what I want a character to look like, but the amount of times I've actually drawn a character I made in there has been close to zero. Most of the ones I have drawn were preexisting characters I made before I even knew the website existed.
And you know what? I'm sick of this! I'm sick of making characters and never drawing them! I'm sick of making a character's story and personality in my head and then never actually putting pen to paper! These lil' guys deserve better, and I wanna give them better!
So, in order to get back into the swing of things and make sure this blog doesn't gather dust, I'm gonna make a challenge to myself. I'm going to draw every Hero Forge character I have in my library from oldest to most recent and upload them to this blog. At least the ones I finished. Maybe I'll even add a fun blurb or two to show off more of their story and character. "Yelling about my blorbos", as you kids say.
I can't promise consistency (I am still in school), but I'll try to upload a new character every week or two starting next week. Hopefully I'll show some improvement over however long it takes me to do this nigh-Herculean task and will not be sniped by my hubris or curse my past self for making so many models.
Stay tuned, and wish me luck! We have a lot to get through!
