Ruby peeks at her over her shoulder, already holding three different types of weapon attachments and wearing the brightest smile Weiss had ever seen. “Maybe, but that was before I found out they had a custom modifications section!”

Weiss sighs, because she knows that tone. It’s the same one Ruby uses when she sees a tasty dessert or a fluffy dog.

“Ruby, you’ve barely seen anything else though, we’ve been in this aisle the whole time.”

“And I already know the rest is amazing.”

Weiss tries to hide her smile as Ruby spins the weapon carefully, inspecting every notch with wide excited eyes. There’s something endlessly endearing about watching Ruby’s passion. She could be awkward and uncertain at times, but when it came to weapons, her confidence is bright as a star.

“What about this one?” Ruby holds up a blade, and Weiss takes it, narrowing her eyes.

“Eh, balance feels off.”

“How did you know that immediately?”

“Because if there’s one thing I know,” Weiss puts the weapon back. “It’s swords.”

Ruby wiggles her brows before leaning close. “You’re such a nerd.”

Weiss lifts her chin. “And yet you’re in love with me.”

“Damn right!” Ruby hums, and then she tilts her face. “So…does loving you come with a weapons purchase?”

“It does not.”

Ruby groans, putting the items in her hands back as Weiss watches. They walk out to the store hand in hand, and Weiss quietly slips a firing pin into Ruby’s bag. Brows pinched, Ruby gives her a look.

“Weiss, that wasn’t as slick as you think it might have been.”

“I don’t know what you mean,” Weiss hums, and slips her elbow around Ruby’s. “Elaborate?”

“I can literally see the firing pin poking out.”

“Hm, weird.”

Ruby grins, rising to her toes to press a kiss to Weiss’s cheek. “You spoil me!”

“I try not to,” Weiss hums but she’s smiling, and when Ruby kisses her again, her grin spreads. “And yet here I am.”

Side by side, Ruby puts an arm around Weiss’s waist, dragging her close. “Here you are.”
