I don't know why educators are freaking out about the openai chat bot; all it does is reword the prompt lol. Now I'm trying to coax it into writing PKD short stories, which is going poorly as the ai is very determined to wrap everything up with a nice, neat moral ending.

Clarkesworld magazine had to shut down submissions due to a deluge of bot-written stories, and speaking as someone whose second instinct with openai was to try to get to write sf, I've gotta wonder what those submitters were thinking. (I know, it's that they were spamming every publication in hopes of finding one that had fired its editor and replaced her with a bot.) It generates story shaped things, not actual stories that make internal sense.
