TAYLOR SWIFT Arriving at Electric Lady Studios (15 June 2026)
Women who you don't like, or you don't politically align with, or who are horrible people, still have the right to see their rapists and abusers face justice and to have their voices heard.
This is a putrid attitude to have, BTW. Rape isn't a punishment for being a shit person. It is a violent and fundamental violation of the right to control over one's body. Excusing, dismissing it, or justifying it, just once, just a little, is a road to total dehumanisation. The worst, most evil person in the world would still never deserve to have it happen to them.
Additional reminder that there are always going to be people who think YOU are a horrible person, sometimes by virtue of being a Democrat, or queer, or being pro-choice...
and if you subscribe to the "horrible people don't deserve to see their rapists face justice/do deserve to be raped" take, then there will be people out there who think those things about you.
That's the thing about human rights: every human deserves them. Every single one. You do not have to earn them by having the "correct" opinions or doing the "right" things. Every single human deserves them, no matter fucking what, simply because they are human.
Because the second you start dehumanizing people and then using that as justification for stripping away their rights, there WILL be someone who uses that same justification against you.
Not to take away from OP rightfully calling out the grossness of that attitude, because far too many actually think a version of this, but moldy cookie looks like another one of those âfar right wing men LARPing as radical feminists to satisfy their humiliation fetishâ people that @senatortedcruz encountered the other day:
at least can all we agree that the original gay flag with the magic and sex colours is BEAUTIFUL and it should make a comeback
whatâs more iconic than this
What about the final version of the flag by the original creator?
Gilbert Baker added a 9th stripe shortly before his death, with the new stripe representing diversity. He added this stripe in reaction to the 2016 US election. Itâs unfortunately not as well known as the 8 and 6 striped versions.
Hereâs an image of him sewing together the 9 striped rainbow flag.
Happy pride month everyone
STAWP HEâS SO CUTE! YOU CAN LITERALLY HEAR THE SMILE

Iâve been thinking about The Fate of Ophelia and how poignant the title is for Showgirl the album and Taylorâs story. Ophelia is only depicted in artworks and only becomes âimportantâ for the characters of Hamlet after her death. That was the fate of Ophelia: to only be shown care for after suffering. Itâs what people do with pop stars. It harkens back to her past relationship. And I love what Taylor did with the cover art, with her looking the viewer in the eye and refusing to die. Refusing to suffer solely for art, or die to make space for others. And the album end with her saying âIâm immortal nowâ. Like, thatâs such a cool throughline!
I have not heard someone phrase it this way and Iâm so glad you shared these thoughts with me! Youâre spot on!

idk you'll never be able to convince me that charli doing that photoshoot with the severed hand wearing a friendship bracelet right after those Taylor Swift fans were stabbed to death wasn't completely fucking evil and unhinged of her. Taylor should've been meaner to her in actually romantic I fear

"May I just take this moment to express my deep appreciation to all the songwriters in the room for their individual achievements and congratulate all of the inductees here tonight? As a director, I am acutely aware of the power that music can have on audiences, and as much as I believe that the stories we tell as filmmakers have the potential to entertain and engage, there is something undeniable about how songs imprint on our souls. They leave a mark, and they provide a map. They provide a map to those moments in our lives that allow us, allow all of us to remember ourselves. And now, more than ever, what you do matters to people. Music will always be a uniting force, whether itâs sung in our cars at the top of our lungs, or at houses of worship, or at football games, or on the streets of Minnesota.
I am honored to be here tonight to introduce the youngest female ever to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, a woman who has no peer when it comes to shattering records as a writer, singer, and storyteller, a singular artist, and a genuine phenomenon whose place in our culture rivals that of the composers of the American Songbook, Lennon and McCartney of the 60s, and the singer-songwriters of the 1970s, like Carole King and Stevie letâs go (K)Nicks, and your namesake, James Taylor. Her iconic success is fueled by her innate gifts, and the unwavering support of her family. Her fearless determination to stand up for all artistsâ rights is a reflection of her deep understanding of how best to use the meteoric fame that she has been navigating since she was just a teenager. And tonight, she is making history, and we get to witness yet another milestone, as Taylor Swift continues to fulfill her destiny as the most successful female artist of not just our time, but of all time.
thinking about the 1989 aoty climbing the mountain top moment and the honorary doctorate speech with only her parents and austin in attendance and even taylor after final eras show saying âeveryone got to see it, mom, travisâ it must feel so good to not only reach a milestone moment in your career and be honored for it but to have every single person you love right there with you.
