Excellent Economist article showing how the population living in poverty in Brazil has been cut in half and their overall distribution of wealth has become more egalitarian in the last twenty years. The solutions we are proposing are simple, practical ideas. If Brazil, with a fraction of the wealth of the US, can achieve this much then I would like to hope that we can do even more. The media and punditry seem fixated on the idea, the narrative, that nobody knows why and what they're protesting and that we don't have any clearly articulated demands. Just because the conversation can't fit into a five second soundbite they believe the conversation doesn't exist. It really isn't hard though, anybody with five minutes and a willingness to listen will realize that while we don't have all the answers we have a lot of amazing ideas.

The media and the powerful elites will tell us that we aren't achieving anything, but they're wrong. Our voice is being heard all the time. We are changing things with our words and actions. Stay strong, continue the conversation, continue the occupation.
