Black women endure constant scrutiny within activist circles and “the movement”, while simultaneously providing most of the work fueling that activism. Yet only through martyrdom are Black women “respected” and “loved”, even then resulting in the loss of their humanity. They morph into hollow, almost saintly figures, a collection of contextless quotes and ideas rabidly consumed, co-opted and weaponized. If they cannot be easily reduced to bite sized ideology, they are disappeared from their intellectual labor and productions.

We need to stop saying “woman” and “female lead” when we mean “white woman” and “white female lead” because both whiteness and the absence of women of color in media need to stop being the default.

romantic love isn’t everything. love comes in many forms. when he bought you coffee. when she complimented your outfit. platonic love is just as good. friend love is good love too.

Hillary Clinton is a war criminal and has no regard for human rights.

Demand accountability for all politicians for inhumane actions against the “third world”. As a haitian I have a strong dislike for the Clinton family, but don’t single out our pain when you just want to use it as a quick jab at a politician. This entire operation was continued from the Bush administration then carried on by Obama.

This is why I really like books that are set in oldey times with people who have views like this, and why it annoys me when people say but that’s not historically accurate
