𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐃𝐘 𝐕𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐄.

dad hated caffeine. even if oliver bought his own coffee and left it in the kitchen, labeled and everything so his siblings didn’t take it, it would likely be thrown out by pogo, because their father never dared step foot in the kitchen. he paid people to do that. oliver, on the other handed, needed caffeine to survive. he didn’t do well without it and the throbbing migraine behind his left eye was a testament to that. it wasn’t a hard decision to get coffee but getting out of bed despite the pain was where it got tricky. 

after sending a quick text to his siblings asking if they wanted anything from the coffee house a few blocks from the academy, he left and had already made his mind up that if they didn’t reply by the time he got there, they weren’t getting anything. 

or at least, he tried to be firm in his resolve. waiting for a reply from everyone, he stepped off to the side, watching his phone anxiously. feeling someone else standing near him, he didn’t look up. “you can go ahead, i’m not in line.”

he’s  writing  —  no,  scratch  that,  he’s  not  writing.  he’s  been  not  writing  for  three  days,  trying  to  review  some  movie  that  critics  are  heralding  but  he  still  hasn’t  managed  to  finish.  netflix  might  knock  it  out  of  the  park  with  their  series’,  but  their  original  films  make  him  want  to  throw  his  computer  into  a  river  just  to  have  a  valid  excuse  as  to  why  he’s  not  updated  his  site  in  three  days.   but  as  long  as  they  continue  to  pay  him  and  send  him  free  stuff,  he’ll  keep  reviewing  whatever  shit  they  keep  rolling  out.  it’s  a  vicious  circle;   even  when  you’re  free,  you’re  never  really  free.  

he’s  just  abandoned  his  post,  an  airpod  shoved  into  his  ear  to  listen  to  whatever  true  crime  podcast  has  updated  most  recently  on  his  phone,  when  he  hears  a  familiar  voice.   in  a  city  as  big  as  new  york,  he’s  mostly  managed  to  avoid  his  siblings,  but  sometimes  he’s  just  UNLUCKY.   today  seems  to  be  one  of  those  days.   it   doesn’t  help  that  he  and  oliver  don’t  get  along.   he’s  never  been  able  to  prove  it,  but  something  about  his  memories  always  just  felt  ...  off.   when  in  doubt,  you  blame  the  one  who  can  manipulate  said  memories.   so  instead  of  snapping,  or  ignoring  him  all-together,  he  goes  the  pettiest  route  possible;   feign  ignorance.   “  cool. ”   he  steps  forward,  taking  his  spot  in  line.  “  thanks. ”

    “deal.” she says with a coy smile, hand firmly shaking theirs. eyes roll, smile stretching wider. “oh try not to look so apprehensive.” she tuts, relinquishing her grip. “it’s not as if you’ve sold your soul.”

“There is so much security at airports now!” Kai’s amused voice bellowed towards the other person, clearly intended to engage in conversation whether they were willing or not. Well, more like a ramble. “I didn’t have any money for a flight, right? So I gave one of the attendants a brain aneurysm, ya know, to convince them to help me. And they said even if they wanted to they couldn’t because there’s, like, fifty other checkpoints to get through! I feel like I gave half the security staff aneurysms just to get on the freaking plane. I mean what a waste of magic, right?”

        i’ll  preface  this  by  saying  that  this  is  my  interpretation  of  how  stefanie’s  childhood  would  have  gone  from  watching  tvd.  this  is  basically  her  experience  but  doesn’t  necessarily  reflect  what  the  damon  and  elena  players  would  do  in  this  group.   this  is  basically  a  psa  on  that.

        let’s  just  say  that  she  was  a  miracle  baby.   no  one  really  knew  if  cured  vampires  could  have  children,  it  wasn’t  exactly  like  there  was  a  manual,  so  her  parents  were  surprised  when  the  test  turned  positive.  the  timing  wasn’t  perfect  —  her  mother  was  in  medical  school,  and  her  father  had  just  started  renovating  one  of  the  local  watering  holes  in  town  to  be  rebranded  st.  salvatores  —  but  they  were  extremely  happy.   the  pregnancy  wasn’t  easy,  though  one  would  argue  that  life  for  those  living  in  mystic  falls  never  is,  but  nine  months  later  she  was  delivered  with  lungs  (  as  her  father  would  describe  )   made  for  screaming.    she  sure  lived  up  to  that  reputation  too,  probably  making  people  question  once  or  twice  whether  she  was  really  human  or  if  she  was  part  banshee.   

         her  childhood  was  relatively  normal.   or  as  normal  as  someone  with  a  connection  to  magic  can  be.   to  this  day  they  aren’t  sure  if  it  was  a  side-effect  of  the  cure,  or  magic  running  through  the  petrova  line  given  the  magic  that  is  doppelgangers,  but  fostering  from  some  of  her  “aunts”  and  “uncles”  helped  her  gain  control  over  her  magic.   she  was  a  student  at  salvatore  school  for  the  young  and  the  gifted  and  probably  both  hated  and  loved  being  a  salvatore.   having  your  family  name  on  the  building  is  both  a  blessing  and  a  curse.  

𝖕𝖊𝖗𝖘𝖔𝖓𝖆𝖑𝖎𝖙𝖞

        she  likes  to  describe  herself  as  the  best  and  worst  parts  of  both  her  parents.   she  has  elena’s  inherent  need  to  respond  with  action,  if  she  sees  something  going  on  and  feels  compelled  to  step  up,  but  she  also  has  her  father’s  selfishness.   she  got  her  impulsiveness  from  both  of  them,  so  it’s  quite  frequent  that  she  jumps  into  things  without  thinking  over  the  consequences.   she  has  a  good  heart,  cares  deeply  about  her  friends,  but  isn’t  always  the  easiest  to  warm  up  to.  

       stefanie  is  very  confident.  maybe  it’s  because  her  parents  always  told  her  she  could  do  or  be  anything,  or  maybe  she’s  a  narcissist.   whatever  the  reason,  she  knows  she’s  awesome  and  doesn’t  need  your  validation  —  though  she  won’t  say  no  to  compliments,  or  attention.   do  i  think  she  single-handedly  insisted  that  salvatore  had  cheerleaders  for  their  football  games  because  only  losers  didn’t  have  anyone  rooting  for  them?   maybe  so.   do  i  also  think  she’s  notorious  for  throwing  epic  parties  because  she’s  constantly  looting  her  dad’s  liquor  cabinet?  yes.
