hey there, my dudes. i am your local disaster and this, similarly, is my disaster. so, here’s a brief summary of what’s happened to her so far.
BIOLOGY
so, here’s the first tl;dr. hope’s biology is a clusterfuck. she is the first and only tribrid in existence, as her mother was a crescent werewolf, her father an original vampire, and her grandmother an ancient witch. all of those things passed down leave open the possibility for hope to be all three simultaneously. she triggered her werewolf curse when she was fifteen and being a tribrid has no bearing on her crescent wolf side. she can turn at will but isn’t part of a pack. she’s also nurtured her ability as a witch, so can perform spells, rituals, create herb brews etc. the only part where being a tribrid truly effects her biology is the blood in her veins is not human, but rather vampiric. she heals at the rate turned vampires do, and can therefore heal others, but won’t enjoy the benefits of compulsion and immortality until she dies and activates her vampire side. ( my interpretation of hope bases healing on adrenaline and a situational basis. due to the inconsistent law about what exactly her blood is capable of, and tend to take it on a case by case basis. how much danger she feels / is defines the level of healing/amount she’ll bleed. )
BIOGRAPHY
she was born in 2012, to klaus mikaelson and hayley marshall. her existence is, essentially, a loophole. vampires historically aren’t able to reproduce, but because her father was a vampire by magic not blood, it was considered a loophole. her mother died in childbirth, but due to having carried a baby with vampire blood, she was turned and saved. hayley raised hope after she spent a year under her aunt rebekah’s care and until she was sent to the salvatore school at seven. her family was scattered across the globe because of ancient dark magic that promised to kill her if they weren’t, and soon, the family rifts deepened. in a desperate attempt to see her father, at nine years old, she astral projected and found him covered in the blood of his victims at what she would refer to as a MURDER ORGY. that night was the last time she would hear from her father for six years. ( get out, she sometimes thought, was the last thing he’d ever say to her. ) flash forward to six years later, when she was suspended for essentially being a blood dealer. she sought only to bring her family back together but, in doing so, devised a plan that would lead to her mother’s death. her mother died at the hands of her first boyfriend roman, who was also student at the salvatore school and was brainwashed by his mother into believing the mikaelsons were monsters. it was around this time she also accidentally triggered her werewolf curse and was once again plagued by the dark magic that her family had set off across the globe to protect her from. she was set to die until her father made a deal with lizzie & josie saltzman to transfer the hollow into him on the night of her first turn. this later killed him, and her uncle elijah, which was Great. this lead to a permanent residence at the salvatore school and a diagnosis of ptsd, survivor’s guilt and self-isolating tendencies to name a few. over her time at the salvatore school, she would come to befriend and date landon kirby, become close with the saltzman twins and learn that she was the loophole to malivore. because malivore was created by the blood of a witch, a vampire and a werewolf, hope was nature’s answer as a creature that could destroy him by countering him, as malivore could never harm the species it was born from. she threw herself into the malivore pit believing it would stop him from rising, and end the series of monster attacks that had been plaguing the salvatore school for months, but as she hadn’t activated her vampire side, it simply erased her. it expelled her due to this and she lived life as the FORGOTTEN until josie saltzman brought back everyone’s erased memories. she was set to leave for new orleans after this, as to spare everyone the heart ache of trying to readjust to her in their lives, but her plan was cut short by a simple task ; STOP THE APOCALYPSE. second times the charm, she’s hoping.
PRESENT TIMELINE
hope’s current priorities are fairly simple. one, stop the apocalypse. piece of cake, right? she’s still dealing with the ramifications of her own needless suffering and jumping into the malivore pit, and it just may have triggered her previous guilt complex from three years ago. if she can stop this apocalypse, in the past, then maybe she has a shot at helping those she loves in the future. other priorities include not giving away her identity and oh, making sure she’s born. yeah, that’s kind of important. ( she may also join the cheerleading squad. go figure. )
