i had a dream that i went to some kind of big cooperative sex dungeon that also incorporated a wide range of complementary health treatments (physio etc) and basically an erotic community theatre and also a regular bring and share meal for neurodivergent people. as you do. and also there was different areas and the one that my dream self wandered confusedly into was somehow linked to UCAS? like. the uni applications system. not the system itself. people who were members of a society who helped people with their UCAS were there, I guess? I don't fucking know. maybe it was a careers advice service as well. it did mean they were all students though. i was simply lost and couldn't find where in the building the toilets were (though I ended up befriending the actors subsequently. they took pity on me I think. we ended up in an immersive play of some sort where things got blown up.) anyway at one point I was sitting confusedly in this careers advice / sex dungeon combo room and two of the people who worked there were arguing over irish grammar because for some reason half of this was also happening in irish but it was a different dialect from the one either of them had to learned at school and they were giving out about it
so I've got no idea what THAT was all about
also for a dream ostensibly about a sex dungeon there was extremely little sex actually happening in the dream, though this constant sense that it might happen, and that I was somewhat embarrassed about it, but not enough to leave. but we're not going to unpack all of that

i support universal free healthcare for one simple reason: if you are diagnosed with a terminal illness you should quit your job. quitting your job is the correct response to terminal illness. but you can’t do that if your healthcare is tied to your job
listen if somebody knows that they will be dead in a years time, and you are forcing them to continue to come into work, that’s fucked up. terminally ill people should be able to quit their jobs and live their last few months to the fullest. i don’t get how that’s a controversial opinion

the wisdom ive learnt is that becoming part of a friend group 1) takes a long time and 2) involves a lot of feeling awkward and left out at first. there’s nothing terrible about this but if you grew up chronically lonely or have any kind of trauma relating to social isolation this likely feels Really Wrong and activates danger signals. but both fortunately and unfortunately it’s just how becoming close to new people works most of the time
another thing that was not intuitive to me as someone who grew up an autistic loner: basically everyone on the planet is starved for connection all the time and almost everything people do is an attempt to reach out to another. most seemingly illogical interactions and behaviours can be explained by this. you have to take as many of these invitations as you can. even if you're wrong you still attempted to bring more warmth into the world
