loving someone is so interesting because there are moments I get to see who I am without all of my trauma. Like I remember feeling like I wasn’t the affectionate type until I met my first love, and suddenly I had words for daysss. simply overflowing with affection and words for her. I didn’t realize I was capable of that. And then, with a different love, I learned how much I loved to touch. How much I wanted to hold and to cuddle and to feel. how natural it felt. I didn’t know I would love to be touched so much. I feel like love after trauma is relearning yourself. love after trauma is seeing who you are when you’re offered a safe space. safe love is simply Being whoever you’re meant to be.

be healthily sensitive. tell them you're hurt when you're hurt. describe what hurt you. no silent treatment and passive aggressiveness. be honest. don't compromise your emotion. don't bottle it up. weigh the issue. understand and maybe, forgive.

I dont want to contribute to culture i just want to be in love

bring back the habits that made you happy as a child. there’s no reason you should ever have to give up harmless things that bring you joy. you don’t have to age out of having fun. finger paint. write mediocre fanfiction and questionable poetry. put chocolate chips in your waffles. sing in the bath, and while working in the yard, and while washing your hands. hammer tunelessly on a piano. spin in circles until you fall down. climb a tree. just because you’re now in charge of your life doesn’t mean you’re expected to give up on the things that make life feel worth living

not to be positive on main but sometimes things really are ok. sometimes you really will be happy and safe and warm. sometimes you really will be giggly and blushy and full of love. sometimes the night is chilly and your home is cozy and your tea is perfectly steeped and your phone lights up with a message from someone you love. sometimes life really is quite lovely.
