Wedge Plantation, before and almost 200 years after. Located on the South Santee River, on the Charleston and Georgetown County line, the plantation is named for the property lines forming a wedge shape. Historically a rice plantation, the house was built in 1826 for William Lucas and his wife, Charlotte

Morris Island Lighthouse, Folly Beach, SC
The Morris Island Lighthouse was constructed in 1767 and rebuilt several times. It was first officially lit in 1876 with first-order fresnel lens that was installed January 1st, 1858. It stands at 161 feet and has 203 steps. In 1886 the Charleston earthquake cracked the walls of the lighthouse making it slightly lean permanently northeast. It was decommissioned June 15th, 1962.
