Monokel - Berlin Lesbian Bar Invitation. 1932.

Monokel was opened in 1931, one of three lesbian clubs run by Lotte Hahm (1890-1967), known for wearing short hair and tuxedos, and her partner Käthe Fleischmann (1899-1967) as part of Berlin's flourishing gay scene. It was named after the monocle, which had become a fashion staple among the international lesbian community. In this invitation, Monokel is described as "Die Bar der Frau" (the bar for women), and offers dancing and a cabaret program with free admission. The illustration shows two elegantly dressed women dancing.

Just like in the actual show, the henry's are still untouchable. they get to bully everyone below them. The change would probably be that they're jocks instead of popular girls. Not completely stupid jocks, even though male stupidity is cheered on. But ruthlessly cruel ones. They'd be performing well enough in school that the faculty doesn't COMPLETELY hate them and threatening enough that nobody dares to stand up to them, so they get away with basically everything.

Also I do think they'd try to suck up to faculty members in a way that it's obvious that they know they're acting like complete pieces of shit who piss everyone off but they still constantly aggravate everyone and then act innocent (idk if you've seen popular boys in high school who act like this who know they're obviously pushing people to their limit and disrupting class but still intentionally act oblivious to it that would be the Henrys) (fun fact there was an actual kid named henry in my school who does ts)

in elementary school they'd make up rules for playground games that only applied to people who were named Henry. and as you can guess they gave them an advantage.

may be a hot take but in this version i think that instead of heather chandler be a victim of grooming like she is in the movie, i think Henry Chandler would probably have a future (or present) of rape and sexual assault allegations. Adults and older influences and Society in general would probably teach him that its "okay" to do this to women who are "asking for it"

the henry's don't have color coordinated colors or accessories like the heathers do (the red scrunchie that symbolizes power and the obvious color symbolism). however, they do basically have a bunch of "followers/soldiers" that wear the same clothing as them. a letterman jacket. basically any guy wearing a letterman jacket in school would be invited to all the henry's shit, be "accepted" to hang out with the henry's, but would also have to do all the henry's dirty work. if you were caught wearing a letterman jacket but you weren't apart of this cult, you'd probably get curbstomped.

i also think that the henry's would have a different color letterman than all the guys who arent named henry but are still part of their letterman jacket cult.

my biggest question right now for myself is "would they all be on the football team." a) i mean. probably LMAO. i don't know what else a guy could do in 1989 that lets the entire school basically worship him other than play football and be attractive and host parties and bully and harrass people

also i think there would be less of worshipping the heathers like godesses and more of treating the henry's like they are kings or. an evil oligarchy (military government)/dictatorship. but basically instead of worship its Undying Loyalty that you are constantly scrutinized for

actually military coding would go so hard for this AU instead of religious/god/goddess coding (yknow how everyone worships the heathers and treats dead heather chandler like jesus) especially if you mix both of these ideas and frame the Henry's as "everything that "american" christianity stands for (yknow with how americas wars keep being defined as The Civil and Free Christian American Good Soldiers versus (fem!JD who is framed as The Evil and Barbaric Godless Not-Christian (insert country/race of people/communist here)"

henry chandlers death is framed like he is a war hero who sacrificed himself

ofcourse this framing/symbolization would be a critique of how america embeds christianity into its government so much despite the church and government were supposed to be seperate. also i dont have any problems with christianity itself its just i dont like how right wing figures are using it as an excuse to justify violent crimes.

kurt and ram are just framed as Stupid Popular Girls. there could be hints of there being more but its left ambiguous. they're also cheerleaders.

also if you know how the heathers treatment of others was highly girlbossified in the show. yeah that cant happen the henry's are just straight up assholes

veronica in this au (ima just call him rami lmao) would be the only letterman who isnt in the football team or any sports teams. he got his position as a letterman for the same reason (forgery skills) but hes moreso of just like. a nerdy smart guy.

the henry's purposefully isolate rami from the other letterman guys by making sure nobody knows he can forge notes. they make sure rami only hangs out with them too.

she talks like a businessman, not a teenage girl. i love that. heather chandler is not a girly girl. she would NEVER let anyone see her actual insecurities, which in the film revolve mainly around sex and being inexperienced, and in the musical are…….relatively unclear. i think the musical actually does heather chandler a disservice by taking away her college party moment. veronica is CONSTANTLY rescuing various heathers from sexual situations they don’t know how to get themselves out of, and that’s why the fuck heather chandler turns on her. for EMBARRASSING her. not for not doing what she says, like in the musical. heather chandler is EMBARRASSED that veronica can’t suck it up and have sex with a college boy because heather herself also doesn’t want to do it but thinks of it like a business transaction. if she does it, her status will continue to rise.

DAY 1: Heathers

Beginning with my favourite film and one of my favourite musicals.

I honestly believe every Heathers character except Heather Chandler is bisexual, because she is a lesbian dealing with comphet. I totally got the vibe Movie!Chandler had a thing for Veronica. And during Me Inside of Me, some Musical!Chandlers have a really cute moment with the female ensemble member who says "Heather touching me".

In some productions, Musical!Veronica does seem canonically bisexual (saying "a hot girl smiled at me" rather than a hot guy in some versions of Big Fun).

I've seen a lot of Transfem!Duke content and I like the headcanon a lot, I'm not sure if I necessarily interpret her character in that way but I love the concept! Also this girl for sure is jealous of both Veronica and J.D. in their relationship.

I don't have much to say for McNamara honestly. There's the fact that old lyrics in Candy Store had her yelling out "sleep with me!" whilst singing to Veronica.

This is a really random rarepair but I think Martha and Betty would be cute as hell together. I have no clue what their ship name would be, that's how rarepair they are.

You know what, the straights can have Kurt and Ram. I know a lot of people like to ship them, and do whatever you want obviously, but these two just feel like the straightest men ever to me.
