Hey guys, I want you to be aware of a scam that's going on. I just received a message with this:
And individual left a comment on a random post of mine, and "informed" me by basically saying "I have something to tell you. Can you DM me?"
So I DM'ed them (dw, I knew it was a scam. I was just trying to scambait them). And here are some notes. If you see any of these red flags, please do not engage further with the scam.
1. The account that contacted you has a default name. Often, the name is a mashup of 3 words. If you see anyone by names such as "magicalwolfbanana" or "chocolateghostmusic" please know that these are just preset names. People are more creative than that if they're actual users (I had a friend who had a blog named "unabletothinkofaname" or something like that. Even just that is more creative than what I had listed).
2. The account has no likes or people they follow. The scammer had reblogs of pretty consistent material (Project Hail Mary and TADC), so I was thinking they could be an actual person. But the scammers are getting smarter. They fill their reblogs with the most recent or popular tags (in this case, both TADC and Project Hail Mary are becoming popular), to seem more real. But this person wasn't following ANYONE.
3. If you do message them, these ones often say: "I accidentally reported your account." This is a tactic to make the person feel scared something is going to happen to your account. Don't worry, this is fake. If anything was to happen to your account, Tumblr would email information to you directly.
4. Trying to transfer you off-site. THIS IS A BIG ONE! DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, GO OFF-SITE. This is done by scammers so that you can't directly report them on said site, and to have any ability to report them. The easiest off-site contacts for these people to make is Discord, WhatsApp, and Telegram. The official Tumblr would have you do it in-app or in an email. I know it says "this user will not be notified", so then why the hell would the reporter be notified? Do not click ANY links (they can harvest your data, passwords, and even IP and location).
5. Non-matching details. The person who sent me this text had a Discord account name next to the real name. The thing is? If you see, the name of the person was apparently "Oliver Griffiths". But the Discord username had his last name as "Giffitts". Look out for inconsistencies.
6. Not convinced? Look at the punctuation and spacing mistakes. An official Tumblr account would never have these mistakes. There is a double space between "that this". The whole first paragraph is a bunch of comma splices (see how it goes "user, While"? It should be a period). Scammers are getting smarter (no actual spelling mistakes now), but they still have things that sell them out.
7. No underlines for what should be links. Often times, "Tumblr's Terms of Service" (Tumblr, I'm not saying that this is the link to Tumblr's Terms of Service. This is just an example) is underlined and in a link format, since they often need to direct to what they're referring to.
8. Common sense. Why the hell would someone try to impersonate me, a random minor acting as a cartoon character? Why? There is no world in which someone would also have mistaken me for someone else like this. All the other usernames similar to mine are dead accounts. And none have a similar PFP as I do. And, if you report someone, it's going to be directly on their profile.

Jevil begins to change shape to get his partner's attention. The dark cloak seems to grow a demonic head, which can only be distinguished by bright cunning eyes and a monstrous smile, where each tooth is a sharp fang. But this does not bother Jongler in any way - their gaze is still riveted to the city, like to a magnet.
"You're not, not the one on duty today. It's not for you to waste the night," the demon pushes his head closer to someone else's in order to switch to an inviting whisper, "We need to plunge into the world of Morphine together and have a well-deserved rest."
But in response to the seducer, they only sigh softly, so softly that it could have been mistaken for an ordinary breath if Jevil's body had not enveloped someone else's with its altered flesh.
"I can't. I've got a bad feelin'."
"And what does this feeling tell you?"
"Dat boss is gonna be in trouble soon. I heard he wanted to go out at night and test one of his theories."
The demon laughs softly but does not mock his loved one. No, he kisses one of the Jongler's cheeks, while the high collar of the cloak strokes the other, and the thick dark fabric wraps tighter around the tense body, as if giving hugs.
"The little greenie fool has to learn a lesson."
"I know. But he's ma friend."
The exorcist finally opens crossed arms to stroke partner with one hand. Their gaze is finally fixed into someone else's eyes in order to find their outlet there, their calmness. And then Jevil's lips attract attention. The Jongler's head bends forward by itself to finally make the desired kiss and distract himself from his worries, at least for a mome-
An explosion is heard somewhere in the distance. Soon, green flames and black smoke appear at the crash site in the distance.
"Unfortunately, I was right."
"Fortunately, you are already ready to help."
Jevil himself completes the interrupted moment with a light kiss and assumes his original form. Jongler adjusts his cowboy hat, runs straight to the edge of the roof, and jumps down. Demonic wings carry the exorcist to a new destination.

I feel like the deltarune fandom forgets that Noelle and Berdly ARE friends. Even if she doesn't like him romantically she does like him platonically! Yes he is doing things that make her uncomfortable sometimes but that is what will happen in friendships especially in teenagers. One of the many many reasons that snowgrave is fucked up is that you are making a teenage girl kill one of her closest friends who might otherwise be able to help or protect her.
Especially people who seem to hate berdly's mere existence seem to only focus on the times he makes her uncomfortable or seems like a bad friend.
