but yeah just before i log off i am seeing first hand videos of my ex-coworkers who live in delhi posting from the protest, these people are watching the lathicharging firsthand, these people are having abuse hurled at them by the so called police that is being so called peaceful. we all know the media is busy sniffing political dick from the pockets of people in power but sometimes you can still unintentionally end up getting the subconscious message that things aren't as bad as they seem on social media. let me tell you they are. they're bad. these coworkers im talking about are not some vague distant people who live in a distant city who i barely knew, these are people who trained me to become a child sex educator, these are people who i worked with for over a year, people i've known for longer than that even. people with whom i share close relationships, with whom i've shared some very vulnerable moments. so i can say with full confidence about what these people are sharing with me is that shit is fucked up and this government doesn't care about its children or its youth and do NOT let anyone even subconsciously imply to you otherwise.

Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?

It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!

It’s July 20th. That’s the day of the moon landing. Next year is going to be the 54th anniversary. I’m ordering astronaut shaped cookie cutters on Etsy and I’m going to have a goddamn potluck. You’re all invited.
