My name is Khal. Please don't call me Emma. I have not used the name Emma in 10 years. I am 36, but the memory you have of me may be 24. I was some unlucky dude on witchblr in 2013-2014. I use they/them and she/her pronouns. I am a practitioner of mostly non-witchcraft type magic who chooses to self-identify as a witch. This is a sideblog.
Note: I have diagnosed trauma-related structural dissociation and a hereditary schizophrenic spectrum disorder. These things do not typically impact my online behavior and their themes and patterns do not have anything to do with my witchcraft. Mostly I experience time loss, behavior changes, auditory hallucinations, and (in prolonged times of very high stress) persecutory delusions + non-violent, non-spiritual psychosis. But I have a very good system in place to help me keep things in check.
Pertinent Information:
I do still use the term "Hearth Witch" on occasion, but I mostly consider myself a practitioner of heirloom/familial traditional magic with a side of traditional witchcraft.
I never had a cult. I had some goofballs in my inbox on anon and I laughed them off as a joke until it become an inside joke that outgrew me. And some weirdos took it seriously. I should have responded to it in a different way, but I didn't. But I never had a cult.
I know there has been a lot said about me since 2013 that has come from an unreliable narrator (a person that I had a difficult social connection with who liked to act like I was being horrible and unreasonable and call me a cunt [to other people] when I tried to reinforce boundaries with them). I know about some of what was said. I won't assume I know about all of it. If you heard something from them, it's probably not true. But, if you have questions about it, I am happy to answer them to the best of my ability.
I unearthed this blog specifically because someone was trying to use old beef with me against someone else. I decided to keep it because I don't want to allow anyone else the opportunity to speak for me and to reconnect with the community.
This is not my only witchcraft blog. I never left the witchcraft community. I continued running shops, websites, blogs, etc. and making resources in a much less social capacity but (thankfully) never had the same experience that I had in 2013 witchblr.
My Hearth Witchery and Heathenry centered blog is @hellishwork (a blog I just stripped clean and brought back from the dead after not using it since 2017).
