My yugioh protagonist, Yumeko Igarashi

I just had a flashback to my one attempt to write a Yu-Gi-Oh! fic, though it was entirely on paper.

The main character of the fic was technically a self-insert, but I also made three OCs along with them to also be isekai'd into the setting (one of which was to be a villain). I also made a kid for the SI and one of the OCs for GX, with the added wrinkle that his parents died in a fire and his deck he inherited from the SI still smelled like smoke.

I also also made up an eighth Millennium Item, the Millennium Signet, which was a finger ring whose only power for the SI was basically invulnerability. Which was in part because the ring actually was supposed to go to the son and contained the Spirit of the Captain of the Royal Guard.

YOOO that's hype! Yumeko wasn't my self insert attempt personally, that was a different story. Yumeko was my attempt at fleshing out an entire yugioh series complete with its own summon gimmick called Yugioh: Evolution Revolution

The basic summary goes

An underground circuit of kidnapped duelists, a rescued teenager plunging back into the abyss, a strange too smart cat, and new friends and enemies that push our hero beyond her limits, it must be Yugioh ER! After being rescued from the underground duel circuits Yumeko finds herself in ownership of a far too intelligent supposed emotional support cat as she tries to recover. This peace comes to an end after another student from her school goes missing. As Yumeko realizes the circuits aren’t behind her after all, she must enter back into the circuit, this time as not a kidnapped victim, but a willing participant at night. Through her victories she helps get other victims to safety and learns that these duels are getting more and more realistic, and more dangerous, by the match.

If Yumeko Igarashi wants to succeed and find out the truth beyond both the duels and her far too intelligent cat, she's going to need to Evolve past herself and become someone even stronger.

I had the most fun idea of a game with disco elysiums intense branching narrative choices two billion words, but it's a psychological horror character study between three characters and the kidnapping the third puts the other two through.

You take on the role of the main character, a cold aloof boy who disconnects from the world around him and never lets himself care for anyone else to protect himself

Kidnapped alongside your college classmate, a timid white haired boy who is a lot more emotional.

With the third classmate being a peppy seemingly go-lucky class rep type...who just so happens to be the one keeping them in his basement.

Your choices in dialogue, actions, and understanding of each character's psyche can severely alter the outcome of the story, do you befriend the other victim for help? Or do you rat them out to your kidnapper to earn favor? Do you try and fight your captor, or do you take your aggression out on the only weaker target? Do you not even want to leave?

Of course the point of the game is to be a mix of choose your own adventure, psychological horror, and a character study. It's absolutely meant to be a horror about what you'd do to survive. With a ton of themes on abuse, imprisonment, gaslighting, all that fun stuff. By the end ideally you'd have a very in depth understanding of each character and what makes them tick, essentially dissecting them throughout the game.

Making new oc playlists and I was really annoyed one song wasn't on spotify because it fit my character perfectly and I was racking my brain for like ten minutes trying to think of any other character of notoriety that has that specific vibe and came to the conclusion that I know one character off the top of my head and it's the fucking radio demon
