DR 4 PART 2 FULL RANT!!!
Here we go again... (major spoiler alert)
POSITIVES:
Absolutely adored the merged lands summit plot; so much worldbuilding was put into this, and I'm actually so invested
For the first time in a while, I felt more interested in the new characters. As part 1 absolutely bored me with its subplots, I actually feel bad about it and love the depth of Sora's character and her relationships with her parents and Arin.
Akita and Lloyd relationship being kinda CANON??? I never was a big fan tbh, but the concept of her new partner being possessive and jealous of Lloyd has actually destroyed me
Silver was such a compelling character; his inner battle with himself sadly had to be ruined by the simple "possession" term, but the writing killed it
Jaya. OH MY GOD THEY MET AS KIDS BYE. Their care for each other, every little moment, heugh 😭
Jay in general - his flashbacks, his focus, his writing this season improved so much:_) The mysterious element in the blacksmith shop, I wonder if Ras will use it to reverse the merge... curious how it will all end
Rebooted mentioned and the general - such a great comeback of the villain
I like how nicely presented Percival's character was; he was so cute
NEGATIVES:
Instead of bringing back chima as a realm we brought back the land of lee. Wow srsly?
Bellatrix is still an unappealing villain. Please bring back Ras full-time; I'm sick of her coming back and constantly losing. Literally, let her stay dead
My fav character just exploded. I don't think i need to elaborate on that and how quick this whole shit was. I'm not coping - he will 100% come back, nanana. Why would you do that tho? This is not leading the characters anywhere tbh
Frak and Euphrasia were "just there to be there"; idk why. Frak had a fun subplot with his dad; however, getting a full-ass episode was too much for me
I didn't even realize Pixal was gone lol until I saw her dead body with the mech
Conclusion and chain of plot:
I wish we actually got more info; so many mysteries, relationships, and plots still unsolved. The pacing is so slow, so I'm pretty convinced season 5 will be hella rushed. However, I want to just elaborate that Ninjago Legends coming out might be my new hyperfix and the Ninjago adult anime, so I won't be bored until then. Moreover, I have a love-hate relationship with this underwhelming chapter of Ninjago. When I was a kid 1-7 seasons were everything to me, 8-10 were the teen awakening, and 11-16 were the show to binge-watch after school. However, DR to me feels more like a chore to learn more, and I'm left with more questions than answers to understand the world. I wish I could go in depth and feel with these new characters and situations, but it feels so repetitive, even though I'm still surprised by some interesting choices.
