The Good Place – 2.10: Best Self
Not sure why it's a new trend among fic readers to assume if the fic has not been posted within the week it's inappropriate to comment on it, like the fic has to be hot out of the oven to give feedback for.
I got a comment on a fic that is less than a year old and it was mostly an apology for being a comment on an "old fic" and how late they were in commenting.
Just comment on the fic. Doesn't matter how old it is.
Fandom is not social media.
Fandom is not trends.
Fandom is a cross between a library and having a slumber party with your friends.
"Old" means nothing to fic.
This is so important. Don’t ever hesitate to leave a comment on an "old" fic. I value every piece of feedback I receive on my stories. It doesn’t matter if they are 5+ years old.

Klaroline Fanfic Week
Welcome to Klaroline Fanfic Week!
About our event:
Hey guys! We’re doing a Klaroline fanfic event for July 2026! Each week in July will be a different theme and you can create as many Klaroline works as you’d like (fics, one-shots, drabbles, a few paragraphs, entire WIP chapters, aesthetics/mood boards, art, etc.) for each theme.
Week 1 [July 1-July 5, 2026] – Canonish: We’re looking for Klaroline-centric works that operate within canon — sort of. Have you always wanted to fix the irritating things that canon got wrong? Or, maybe show that conversation or scene that canon selfishly denied us? Here’s your chance!
Week 2 [July 6-July 12, 2026] – Historical: We’re looking for Klaroline-centric works set in a historical time period. Human, supernatural or something in between — just put Klaroline in any time period you find fascinating!Â
Week 3 [July 13-July 19, 2026] – Crime: We’re looking for Klaroline-centric works that feature criminal and/or law enforcement elements like mafia, spies, courtroom, murder mystery, grifters, prison, etc.
Week 4 [July 20-July 26, 2026] – Science fiction: We’re looking for Klaroline-centric works with science fiction elements. Time travel, aliens, space travel, insidious AI or other diabolical technology, futuristic, dystopian, genetic experiments, etc. — pick any kind of sci-fi you like and put a Klaroline twist on it!
Week 5 [July 27-July 31, 2026] – Soulmates: We’re looking for Klaroline-centric works about soulmates. Do they have soul marks, share thoughts or injuries? Were they fated to be soul mates, or did nature force the issue? Pick whatever soul mate elements you can come up with and feature Klaroline.
To participate in the event:
For each designated week, post your works on tumblr and be sure to tag us within the post @klarolinefanficweek.Â
Be sure to like and reblog everyone’s works so we can enjoy everyone’s creativity!
If we overlooked your works in our reblogs and recaps, please send us the links!
And feel free to post sneak peeks of your works for the event whenever you like and be sure to tag us within the post @klarolinefanficweek.
Have fun and thanks for participating!
Seven Sentence Sunday
Working on some content for the upcoming Klaroline Fanfic Week @klarolinefanficweek; here's a peek at something I'm working on for Week 4 - Science Fiction week:
Klaus had never been a fan of pink champagne. In fact, he’d tasted rancid goat’s milk that carried a more pleasant bouquet than pink champagne. However, after he watched Caroline purposely spill yet another of his siblings’ servings of pink champagne, it seemed that the fiery little fledgling managed to loathe it even more than he did.Â
She treated an irritated Elijah to a viciously sweet smile as she handed him a crystal tumbler of scotch instead, cheekily plucking his Italian silk pocket square to dab at the sticky champagne splatters on his tuxedo jacket. “You should be thanking me; that extra-slim tailoring is so last season.”
With the confident posture of a warrior queen, Caroline returned to Klaus’ arms to begin a lively new waltz. Yet again demonstrating her light feet, she expertly kept time with the eight-piece chamber orchestra Rebekah had insisted upon.Â
“Dare I ask what my brother has done to earn your ire, sweetheart?”

Seven Sentence Sunday
Some of my WIPs for Klaroline Fanfic Week @klarolinefanficweek:Â
Week 2 - Historical:
Raucous laughter from the back of the blacksmith shop reached his ears, along with rumblings of cargo manifests and dockside gossip. Caroline stiffened and her radiant, expressive face became a stony mask as she told him briskly, “Unfortunately, the shop is closed. I recommend ye seek out the work of the smithy further inland. Good evening to ye, Lord Klaus.”Â
Caroline’s abrupt demeanor was disconcerting to say the least, and Klaus bristled at her dismissiveness. The rapid pitter-patter of her heart and the sudden sour fragrance of fear caught him by surprise — surely she hadn’t recognized his monster so quickly? She was a sharp-eyed bird to be sure, but even the cleverest of humans took a bit to catch onto his otherness.Â
Klaus’ confusion grew as Caroline raced toward him, fright etched upon her face even as she pushed him into the small shed beside the stack of barrels.

some fandom disagreements are like "I see your point but I think this other aspect of the narrative is more significant," and some are like "I don't think you can read."
An unexpected gift
A one-shot for Week 1 (Canonish) of Klaroline Fanfic Week @klarolinefanficweek
“Well, I had considered offering you a first class ticket to join me in New Orleans.” Klaus declared openly.
Caroline’s breath caught in her throat. Klaus’ honesty and vulnerability with her never ceased to amaze her. Only with her, she realized. Even though he knew that she did not return his feelings and there was a 99.9% chance that she would turn him down, it never stopped him from expressing how he felt. He literally wore his heart on his sleeve for her.
A soft sigh escaped her lips, her expression clouding with the weight of what she was about to say, the familiar ache of rejecting him once more.
“But I knew what your answer would be…” he continued, his voice tinged with a hint of acceptance.
Relief washed over Caroline in a gentle wave. She was grateful to be spared the heartache of turning him down again, especially after he literally saved her and her friends’ life earlier. She just couldn’t bear the thought of hurting him today.
“So I opted for something I knew you would accept.” Klaus added, shifting the mood.
Instantly, Caroline’s curiosity was piqued, her eyebrows arching inquisitively. Now, what else could Klaus have possible gotten her? He was a man of extravagant gifts for sure – an exquisite blue ball gown with sparkling beads and a diamond bracelet came to mind - but she also knew that he understood the value of a simple but meaningful present. She would never admit this to anyone, but his drawing of her from that night at the Mikaelson ball – a night that now seemed worlds away – was the best gift she had ever received, and it wasn’t even a close competition.
