But Elizabeth Forbes, Mystic Falls’ resident Sheriff, is long gone from this world, and Caroline can’t argue back that her mother also knew how to change a tyre, that if Elizabeth Forbes wasn't such a workaholic, Caroline would know how, too.

No, all Caroline can do is stand helplessly with a wrench in one hand and a phone playing some well-meaning man named Kevin’s tutorial in the other.

The sun hasn’t set just yet, so Caroline’s betting on fight or flight—or in this case, fight or fix a tyre—to kick in. She figures she has enough daylight left to do a passable job that will at least get her to her childhood home unscathed.
