Welcome, traveler!

This year it’s the 24th anniversary of Abe’s Oddysee, so I drew Abe in his classic design. He was one of the first few video game characters I knew when I was little. Though AO is a difficult game, it was fun to play the demo. I’m glad I’ve re-discovered it years later.

Backstory: Brooke was a worker slave at the Brewery. He knew about the horrors about the When rumors was spreading about the so called „Abe guy” and the destruction of the Rupture Farms 1029, Brooke decides to break free in secret with few other mudokons. During the escape, he gets two gunshot wounds on his right cheek and ear, which causes him hard to hear on the right side. After two days on the run, Brooke was the only one remaining survivor so far. As he traveled by train, Brooke tried to convince others about the bad effects of the brew, but only a few mudokon believed him. He got out of the train near at a Phat Station so he won’t be captured or killed by the sligs. As the 48 hours gone by, Brooke got weaker as he walked forward in the middle of nowhere. Later he laid dying, but before he lost his concious a wanderer found him. After a long time, Brooke woke up at a cave shelter of a female mudokon called Emma. She is a native who saved his life and have cured him with an antidote. To appreciate this kind act, Brooke asked Emma to teach him about survival, so he can help others. The female mudokon wasn’t sure if she could trust him, but as she analyzed him, she saw the determination in Brooke’s eyes and his kind, empathetic nature, she accepts his offer. Brooke is now at Emma’s shelter as her healer apprentice.

Note: As I drew Alf, I was looking for references from the game’s cutscenes, and found more tattoos on his arms, which are hard to see them well. So my apologies if I didn’t do them well.
