I added a bunch to my website last month. The main page has a tamagotchi now. Then I did a digital shrine for Manon. I really want to add more, maybe for my favorite movies. But my favorite is this site. It has a bunch of hidden clickables and I just like the vibes. Movie I saw a bunch of movies this month that I was waiting for. But sadly most of them were average. Backrooms and Obsession didn't do too much for me. I finally watched Alpha though and liked it. I also liked Scary Movie 6 and I will rewatch it just to get a better opinion of it. It was parodying Scream 5 and 6 really well. But I feel like people who haven't seen that can't appreciate a lot of the movie. But generally the references and the physical gags were really good.

Speaking of parody movies. We did a rewatch of Airplane! and I will always love it. The format of having joke after joke and no big overarching plot isn't for everyone but I really like it. I have probably watched it 10 times now and I still laugh even though I can quote most of it. We also need to set up finally watching Stop! That! Train! because it's not playing in cinemas here. Game

I'm late! Movie I was so sure I watched the original Spiderman as a kid, but now I think I only saw some scenes when it was on the TV. I am usually not a superhero movie fan but I always liked the Andrew Garfield ones. So I was very curious about Tom Hollands spiderman and oh man I was disappointed. The worst thing is, I really like his portrayal of the character and his energy BUT the movie is just so bad. First of all, no real introduction in Homecoming, because he gets introduced in a random Captain America movie (I'm not watching that) and NEITHER of those movies have the transformation scene. That's one of the coolest parts about spiderman??? Anyway, so I decided to "rewatch" the original and I LOVED it. But I love everything that has Kirsten Dunst and Willem Dafoe in it tbh. And it's just such a good mix of high school movie and the superhero thing. Now I'm even more mad at the new ones. Justice for Tom.

Internet Ever since I found out about neocities I wanted to make digital shrines and I finally started one for Manon. (Still no official info on her status) I feel like rn it's more of a fansite than a shrine but it will grow. Also I want to do one either for movies in general or separate ones for my two favorites (Scream & Romeo+Juliet). I love actually making internet.

Show I can't believe Euphoria is over! I started rewatching The Sopranos after it came out because I realised I actually like crime shows. I just don't like crime shows from the perspective of the cops. (... except for Twin Peaks) Bonus points for religious imagery.

We're only three episodes in but EUPHORIA - wow! I always liked the show but this season especially. People hate it because they think the style is too far removed from the original, but to me Euphoria was always about being on trend and of its time, so this makes perfect sense to me. Also how the characters progressed and what situations they're in. People say it's misogynistic that so many of them are involved in sex work but I feel like it makes sense for them and also it's not shown in a positive light. If it wasn't messy there would be no show. I hope it stays this good.

Music It's been out for a bit but the Grammys really made me fall in love with Fame is a gun - Addison Rae. First part of the performance was meh but the transition to Gnarly goes crazy. Movie Technically it's a forever favourite but I finally watched Romeo + Juliet (1996) on the big screen. It such a bold choice but it works so well for me. They kept the Shakespeare dialogue but put it in a 90s setting. I just love the costumes and the sets and how they translated it into modern times. I just love it so much. Also the editing is so interesting, it's at times almost shot like a music video. So good. Forever.

Music Since I saw it on the Grammies the Stateside Remix by PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson has been stuck in my head. But tbh only the "boots that's my ego boost" part.

Show I didn't really see any good movies this month. But I started rewatching H2O: just add water. I feel like it holds up pretty well. They're really doing a good job of mixing normal teen problems with the mermaid thing. I kind of wish we would spend more time on the island, those parts stuck with me most.

Books I started rereading Wuthering Heights because of the movie. Movie was disappointing but the book stays pretty good. Also my new strategy is to have a fiction and a non fiction book so when I don't feel like reading one I can switch to the other. Right now I'm doing "Your favorite scary movie" by Ashley Cullins in anticipation of Scream 7.

It's a two movie month!

Movie 1

Thirteen (2003) stars a young Nikki Reed who co-wrote this movie with her step mom. I really feel like it conveys adolescence in a very real almost grimy way. And I feel like teenagers maybe especially teen girls deserve to have that represented. I reel like acting like teens are living like they're on Nickelodeon is not taking their problems and lives seriously.

Movie 2

Jawbreaker (1999) is the lovechild of Carrie and Heathers. Which is why we watched it as a double feature with the latter. It is well written but for the its the aesthetics that make it. The Outfits, the sets and the silly scene transitions. It's just so campy. And surprisingly gay. If you need a double feature I'd do Heathers first though.

Movie It's rare, that I put a sequel on here but Five Nights at Freddys 2 made it. I saw the first one when it came out and rewatched it in preperation for this one and I have to admit, it's very mediocre. But if a movie has Matthew Lillard and Skeet Ulrich I'm going to watch it. Scream husbands reunited. I have to say, it was better than the first one! Yes, they tried to cram a bit too much into one movie and trying to bring game elements into it kind of messed up the pacing but besides that it was a very fun and also kind of scary movie. What more can I ask for? Also I loved all the cosplays online. Looking forward to the third before it's even announced. Hoping for more screentime for my favorites!

Fnaf also has one of the best recent horror soundtracks! This intro feels like a classic already. They played The Living Tombstone for the credits again and now I am constantly listening to their FnaF songs. Aaand I made two Letterboxd Lists: Queer Christmas Movies and my holy Teen Movie Trinity.

Music The official version came out on the 2. of January but Katseye performed Internet Girl live in December and it's been stuck in my head since. It was controversial from the start but everybody HATES the studio version! Yes I also dislike the babyvoice but only because I love Megans live adlib so much. Other than that I cant complain, sorry that I like to have fun.

Music Song of the month is Supermassive Black Hole by Muse. Please tell me if there is ANY other song that soungs like his. I can't find any. Talk Show Host by Radiohead gives me a similar feeling but is too slow.

Movie Because of the Frankenstein (2025) hype I remembered that I still had Lisa Frankenstein (2024) on my Watchlist and I'm so glad I finally saw it. I already knew I love Diablo Cody because of Jennifers Body. Her dialogues are just so good. I'm a classic horror fan in general and I really liked the fun teen girl twist she put on it. The visuals were great, the tanning bed as the laboratory table! Also the animated bits and the black and white scenes, amazing. Lisa looks so much like Chappel Roan?? It reminds me so much of Heathers (1989)! I have to admit I liked it more than del Toros Frankenstein. Wish it had gotten a bigger hype, but Jennifers Body also had a slow to rise to cult status.

Movie

I watched a bunch of horror this month again but my favorite was Ugly Stepsister. To be honest I was a little disappointed with this years movies but this one almost balances it out again. I love the balance between fairytale magic and brutal realism. Kind of wish more would have happened at the ball but loved the reveal. Really fresh, havent seen many similar things (except for The Company of Wolves) and thats so hard to do in horror!!!

Also the Scream 7 Trailer is out! So far looking really good. I love that they dont introduce a ton of new people bu seem to focus on Syd and her daughter. Even thought the daughter looks soooo boring please design characters again..... The burning house is already iconic. I am sat.

Place

I went to Neaples because of Robbie McIntosh the photographer I talked about on here last May and it was even better than in the pictures. I love the combination of the gaudiest churches, graffiti everywhere, football merch everywhere and murals of lost family members. The city really belongs to the people. Also the beach. Tbh maybe my favorite city I have been in so far.

Art

I ordered a print by Anthony Hurd for my boyfriend and put it up on his wall while he was at work. I had to sneak past the houeskeeper and her dog because she likes to talk and I wanted it to be a surprise. Very sneaky.

Movie

My friend and I started watching Twilight again for fall… and I have to admit especially the first one is really good. The second one is pretty bad in comparison so much so that I'm surprised the series got that popular. Thirt one pretty good again, finally werewolves. Weird that theyre such a big part of the cultural canon and they only appear so late. Gonna see the last two soon. Also after every movie we watch the coinciding Hillywood Show Parody. Best way to consume them. Recommend it.

Movie Technically I saw it on the 30th of July but I didnt include it but I finally watched In 3 Tagen bist du tot. I watched it for free outside which was cool too. I admit it is a mix of I know what you did last summer and Friday the 13th BUT it's set in Austria. I also showed it to my friend this month and they also said the mix of early 2000s teen movie and Austria is so interesting. Also despite copying big plot points they still make the kills feel very fresh and unique. Please let austrians to more comedy and horror i hate this boring polcie crime thriller stuff. (Weapons had more potential that it lived up to, sorry)

Show I started watching the X files. I love the vibes but I feel like im not far in enough that I can say much about the story. So far I got like no payoff only mystery. But I'm down to continue with the fall mood. I just really like these two.

I'm sooo back to playing DTI.

Movies I read The Body by Stephen King 4 years ago and I finally got around to watching Stand by Me. (don't know why they changed the name) I always love the combination of "horror" and summer. We have enogh fall horror movies. I actually never quite finished the book so I wasn't sure how it was going to end and I liked it. Also I love when Chekhovs Gun is an actual gun.

Books I am reading Fear Street again. I feel like R. L. Stine definitely has ghostwriters because they differ so much. But the old ones are really good. They're pretty hard to find though. My boyfriend got me one at a thrift store. I hope I can get more, thinking about checking libraries. I also love the old cover art.

Game I HATED Life is strange 4 but I'm really enjoying Lost Records by Dontnod so far. Huge IT vibes with the past and present storylines. It's also really nice to play as it's released. It will come out in two parts and now were waiting for the second one to drop. I'm so upset Kat isn't in the present storyline and i really hope we get to see adult Swan.

Oh shit I forgot febuary was a thing! Tbh i'm rewatching Twin Peaks and Scream (why are all the actors making a comeback???) again but I already talked about those. Did I do anything else? Movie

Okay so apperetly I did watch one movie that was not Scream (great), Star Wars (ok) or Bodies Bodies Bodies (bad). Cowboys is the only trans movie I know that is like actually pretty good (hated Mutt why would you do that). There was only one single line where I was like... meh a child wouldn't say that about being trans probably. But otherwise. Well done. And like enough other things happening so thats not even focussed on that much. The dad is such a great actor?? Also love cowboys.

short Music Im obsessed with... the radio. (I got my old record player back in Vienna and it has radio reception) I feel like the media i consume is so floaty and detached because the internet is so big and timeless. So listening to a live local radiostation ist just so grounding and comforting. Also I usually only get new music from TikTok or going out nowadays. So i like getting new music in the way its supposed to be lol. Wenn die FPÖ genau jetzt fm4 verbietet schrei ich. So i guess the soundtrack to this month is live.

Book I read The Midnight Library. Was good. Had to sop for a whil inbetween because it gave me an existential crisis. My friend wrote a beautiful inscription on the first page.

Finished Salems Lot and it was good. Finished Life is Strange Double Exposure and it was BAD. The story didn't go anywhere. Life

Me and my friend started "movie club" where we watch a movie at the same time and just text the whole time. It's such a good concept because when I watch with friends online I have to wear headphones and the talking is hard to understand next to the movie. Also I always need to do an activity next to watching anyways AND you can text wayyy more than would be socially acceptable to talk. like please try it this is the perfect form of existing for me. (also were very funny but he wont let me post it)

Movie

After we finished the Scream franchise (1 and 4 are the best, 5 ist the worst) like this i recommended Jennifers Body. I knew he liked Scott Pilgrim and I feel like Jennifers Body is the horror comedy version of that. On my Letterboxd i have only 10 5 star rated movies and thats one of them. But i think this is the one I would show most people because I feel like its objectively SO GOOD. the only thing i'd critique is the intro... didn't need that. but even the credits. man. oh I really wanna check out the german translation I'm sure its awful.

Music This is a very weird time to get into her but I started listeing to a lot of M.I.A.. I love Come Around because it was in Wild Child. Me and my best friend used to watch that movie so much we'd know the diagloue by heart. (Also imagine a mashup of Bad Girls and Rockstar by Lisa) In summer I really liked MGMT because of Saltburn and this feels very similar. Nostalic but like... When it was popular I was too pretentious to listen to that stuff. Now I actually like to have a good time.
